I didn’t see a Rules Questions section, so I hope this is an okay place to post this:
My question is with Characters in a Blunderbuss unit. The Blunderbuss unit states "As long as 20 or more models from a unit are firing at the same target at the same time, they may reroll failed To Wound rolls."
If I have the unit is 10 wide (20 models in two ranks of shooting) but I have a character in front rank, that means only 19 Blunderbuss models are shooting, and thus I don’t get the reroll failed To Wound rolls, right? Do I have to have 20 Blunderbusses firing at the same unit? Can I equip a pistol on the Character and have it count, as then 20 models are shooting at the same unit?
Dînadan:
If you have a unit that is ten wide with a character with no ranged weapon in the front rank, then only 19 are firing, so you don’t get the bonus.
If the character has a pistol, then RaW you can argue it counts, but I’m fairly sure RaI is that it doesn’t as they wouldn’t be firing a weapon with the ‘Hailshot’ rule, and I’m will to bet the latter is how most (non- rules lawyery/non-competitive) people play it.

So a good way to ‘maneuver’ it is to just go 11 wide…?
Zanthrax:
Yes with a character in the unit go 11 wide to avoid the drama and then unleash hell.
Grimbold Blackhammer:
Waitasecond. If the unit is 10-models wide, shouldn’t it fire in 3 ranks?

Erm, no - that's only in combat.
