As you might have noticed I’m kinda addicted to the sculpting and building of models at the moment…
So I was talking to a guy at my local game dealer about what other stuff that is easy and cool to build; a gigantic spider would be easy, but I have the old 4dr edition gobbo one and I love the model so there is no real use. Or scratch build tree kin using real wood and green stuff, those would be easy. But I dont see myself playing Woodelfs pretty soon. on witch the guy replied, I would love some original treekin for my woodelfs, I would trade you. on wich I replied, sure i’ll do that, but only if you have Chaos dwarves to trade. He didnt have Chaos Dwarves… only Hobgoblins…
So here is a picture of the firts 25 minutes of work:
Hobgoblins Jay!!!
[edit] Update:
Its fast, its cheap but its not looking half bad. looking forward on working some more on these guys (2 squigs are finished 1 almost and the other 2 are on their way. they all ended up a bit big, I think i’ll make 2 really small ones to make them rank up more easy) [/edit]
Working on some more squigs, from scratch this time:
And now I’m seriously thinking about maybe starting a woodelf army just because making treekin is so much fun. I could also easily make a treeman and some dryads. And they are are a bit underdog at the moment d:
Today I’m not allowed to sculpt (already did some). really have to draw (life is hard). and besides my fingertips are itching from working with the stuff all day yesterday.
It probably looked pretty stupid but I walked around searching for sticks and I completely fell in love with the top hand of this piece of wood I’m now using, Half his face is already finished. cant wait to start the green stuff (:
Played my first game with my (still unpainted) wooden woodelfs (wint the bare minimum of elfs (all metal)).
I had some lucky rolls and won, witch means I now like playing the woodland eleven folk, So after wards I was talking with Bas_2312 abouth other additional options for the army and we kinda realized; Wild riders of Kurnous are also “Forrest spirits”. did some brain storming and now the plan is to make these guys as a centaur variant of the dryads i’ve already made. I’m quite excited, this is going to be my cheapest warhammer army ever (:
Pics comming soon. Sorry its all very un Chaosdwarfy of me…
[edit] first wip pic, doenst look like much yet but give me a day (: [/edit]
@Tjub: Thanx. I think the centaurs will be OK once finished, might not be typical wild riders but tey’ll fit the rest. (oh and they didnt const me anything and thats the main purpose of this army).
@Blue: Cheers, more coming pretty soon.
@Thorne, Its Milliput, but not the standard yellow version but someone said I should try the silver white. When dry its a lot stronger than yellow, but a bit more tricky to work with, next time i’ll defiantly buy the yellow one again for the basic shapes.
