warh:
yeah, I’m way to young to remember
Why not have “back to the 70s” as the next challenge;)

nitroglysarine:
To be fair so am I, by nearly a decade!
Obsidian:
Found what I am going to paint! A Plague Elemental. It’ going to be a Christmas gift for a mate of mine!
clam:
@Warh, simply just do the best entry - and you can decide next challenge
@Obsidian - a Citadel piece?? Don’t recall a such - but looking forward seeing it. Christmas, you say !!!?? - god, it’s coming close, isn’t it. Maybe we should have had a more Christmas frindely theme, then ??
dncswlf:
YES! Almost finished with mine… I have a few WIP pics too… So happy to finally get some paint on this! I am very happy with how it came out… so here is a teaser WIP shot! (I have even been listening to some old Metallica as I painted… to get into the spirit! lol) without further ado… some WIP pics of one of my Goblin Battle Chariots from 1987! Been in a box for 23 years… and now it is ready to seek and destroy some enemies!!!

It is all glued together and I’m just waiting for the glue to dry on the base! Should be done tonight!
This is the first NON Chaos Dwarf piece I’ve painted in 2 years! (hopefully painting greenskins won’t distract me too much from the Dawi Zharr…)
Woot!
dncswlf:
And done (Quite pleased with how it came out!):

(Only about 8 more chariots to go lol!)

Our first official entry :hat off
Thanks for sharing ‘dncswlf’ - and best of luck
Sorry, Obsidian still don’t ring any bells - but it looks like a very interesting miniature to paint - get the brushes swinging
Unzul:
one question: i have got some old miniatures, but how can i know their age??
dncswlf:
the tags on below their feet usually say… you could always search through www.solegends.com but that would be tedious! there’s a lot of knowledge pooled among the members here… you could always take pictures and ask if anyone knows…
clam:
First, this is not a competition only for miniatures from a certain time period. It’s totally up to you to interpret what you make out of it. So dont fell oblige just to paint a 1980 miniature.
But if you want to find out you first should take a good look at the miniatures ‘tag’ - it often shows when and by whom.
If it don’t say or dont have its tag any more - best source is would probably be finding the miniature at www.solegends.com - or simply post it here and ask - sure some of us will be able to guide you.
clam:
dncswlf, beat me to it
dncswlf:
Hilarious as we almost said exactly the same thing, in the same order!
clam:
You know what they say about great minds …
Blue in VT:
hahaha…I’ve always thought it was:
“simple minds seldom differ.” haha
Cheers,
Blue
clam:
Ahh - some the awesome Squig Hunters. The miniature themselves are not 1980s - but close as they are from about 1991-92 (first seen in the 1992 catalogue - http://www.solegends.com/citcat9x3/c92372ogngoblins-03.htm.
- but that’s no reason for not enter them - as we aren’t that strict, you know
Unzul:
i know, but i want to create something "back to the '80s… heheh
Zanko:
I have an idea - a good reason to finish some stuff!
It’s stuff from the 80th and painted in my 80th style!
:hashut
clam:
Lol - yes Zanko, this one is really not much of a challenge for you, is it?
