So, we need a new way picking themes - and need the help from you. So, let me see some suggestion for what would you like to do?
To make it easy for me, I’ll ask you to name your idea a “title” and give us a small desciption what the challenge would be about:
Example:
Title:
"Blast from the Past"Challenge:
The idea being any model that evokes a sense of archaic, ancient, historical or obsolete feeling. This is potentially very broad, but it should open up a lot of possibilities for people. Nothing is too old, and even more recent things can apply: kinda like disco!! Please note that this does NOT have to include historically accurate stuff, so if you want to go Steampunk or Diesel punk, go right ahead. Just remember we’re looking for that “old, out of date” feeling.
And please try and keep the challenge as open as you can, so it don’t favoure any base shape, miniature size, scale, range, genre, manufacturer etc.
Around the 20th, I’ll pick what I see as the top 5 themes and set up a poll for picking the August challenge theme. So feel free to comment others ideas so I get a sence of what people would like doing.
No 1 suggestion: - The model you have converted for fun. Quixotic or silly. I have a BB goblin on a pogo stick I use as a Squig Hopper. You Know something like that would be my preference for a still playable or usable mini.
Good start. Shouldn’t really comment the suggestions, but I have a slightly problem turning it into a modelling challenge (like GH), so not that happy about challenge themes about conversions alone. Altering a miniature is not everybody’s ‘cup of tea’, so not that keen on the idea - but if 10+ guys tells me that what they want, we might give it a chance. But do prefer challenges that keeps things open for all
The idea of this model, is to represent something big, or scary or ugly or just plain mean. Maybe a combination of all those attributes.
Title:
"A face only a mother could love"
Challenge:
Find the ugliest model you have, whether it is actually an ungly beast/creature, or whether it simply badly cast, broken, or simply just un-loved. Paint it up and make it “feel loved” again.
Got 200 miniatures that would fit that first theme, G2 - like that

Wow!!???! That’s a lot of suggestions and like quite a few - but would like you to pick you own top 3-5, please.
And then I don’t think we need more now - but if you got a über cool theme, well lets have it. and I’ll keep this thread open, so we have something to pick from.
- and then I’d like to start hearing what participants would like seeing for August,
I then suggest that I set up a thread with with the 5 most interesting ones. When we have picked one (most voted for) the other themes will go into September’s poll + a new theme from here. If a theme has no votes at all (or maybe just a single vote) - I’ll also remove it from next month poll - but can be suggested again here. In that way, a popular theme that hasn’t got the most votes, will then get a second, third, forth… chance as long as it’s voted for. In that way, I think we’ll get the most popular theme, but perhaps not the most challenging ones
Poll will end on July 31th - and give you exactly one month to paint Next will be set up around the 20th of August ending August 31th, choosing September’s theme etc.
It sounds like a good system. Who knew Danes could invent such?
Do I have to pick top themes? Out of that spam I launched?
Shall I just pick my own suggestions or is it open to pick others? If the first, plucked from my own at random:
1. Title: "To climb a cliff starving"
Challenge: Paint a miniature beset by hardship of some sort.
-----
2. Title: "Amputation"
Challenge: Paint a miniature with some limb or body part missing.
-----
3. Title: "Lay of the land"
Challenge: Paint a piece of terrain.
-----
4. Title: "Beauty and the beast"
Challenge: Paint the ugliest and the most beautiful miniature that you own.
----
5. Title: "My pet"
Challenge: Paint an animal miniature in the colours of your pet.
Otherwise, just swap 2, 3 and 5 for the following:
Title: "What movie?"

-----
Title: "I wouldn’t want to meet you in a dark alley"

It sounds like a good system. Who knew Danes could invent such?
