All figures should look like appropriated gaming miniatures - but can be of any common miniature scale, genre, manufacturer etc.

If your team consist of more than one miniature your entry should be presented in a ?~group shot?T of the entire team.

All competitors must resize their own images before submitting them so they can be uploaded straight into the competition pages without any work by me.  If you don?Tt know how to resize images, please ask someone before the competition gets under-way.

Photos can be edited through picture editing software, and it?Ts allowed to paste/insert thumbnails, small piece of text etc ?" as long as the team ?ostays in focus? and it doesn’t look like an advertisement. Therefore, it can not be allowed that you insert any logos, brands/company names, web-addresses, usernames, twitter/FB handles etc.

By entering you accept that your copyrighted work can be hosted on a shared - but private - Brush Slave photo album account at a free picture hosting site (aka clam?Ts Photobucket account)

Painting
All figures must be completely painted, and all bases must be ?ofinished? (there are no basing standard, though).

ONLY pictures of finished models are accepted. ?~Work in progress?T (WIP) shots are NOT allowed in you final entry, but feel free to post them in other sections of CDO after your team has been made public.

I won?Tt make rules for what?Ts ?opainted? and what?Ts not (3 colours etc.), as we all know what a painted miniature looks like. If in doubt, paint it some more

Scale
There are no scale restrictions - but the figure should look like a gaming miniature and the scale should be consistent within the team. Not that you can?Tt do an Ogre and a halfling on the same team, though.

League Points Table
We?Tll keep it all open and run a public League Table based on the following point system.
At the end of round 8 we should have an overall winner. In case of a tie the placing is determined by 1) numbers of new teams, 2) winning history. Still a tie we’ll roll a d6.

Winner of the league will get a little trophy ?" the Golden Mad Painter ?" and a unpainted copy of the BSL limited Mad Painter. Depending on numbers of participants, quality of the league entries etc. I might throw in a couple more mad painters.

Match ups
Each round, a number of matches will be held. In each match, two pre-determined participants (randomly) will face each other.
A team only takes part in the match-up procedure in the round it was entered for. So if you do 3 entries - you’ll face an opponent three times. No automatic carrying overs.

The winner will be determined by public voting (a Poll). Duration of voting will be 7 days.

The poll will include team name and name of the coach (CDO username) and present the picture(s) of the team entered.

The match up will be random but will be one a ‘first entered ?" first matched up’ - procedure.
Should we have an un-even number of participants in a round ?" last one entered won?Tt take part, but will be first entry for any upcoming rounds.

Points
There are three ways of earning points for the Brush Slave League:

1.   Points for match result
2.   Team entry bonus points
3.   Theme round special bonus point

1. Points for match result
There will be a maximum of 10 points to be earned in each match. The points will be based on vote percentages.
95%+/5% or less) is a clear win/loss - score 10/0 points
85%+/15% or less) is a major win/major loss ?" score 8/2 points
60%+/40% or less) is a solid win/solid loss - score 7/3 points
55%+/45% or less) is a minor win/minor loss ?" score 6/4 points
More than 45% but less than 55% is a draw ?" score 5/5 points

2. Team entry Bonus
To make it worth just entering the league ?" each team entered will earn you a Team Entry Bonus based one team size. For each painted team member you?Tll earn 1 point ?" with the maximum of 6 points.

Cavalry mounted miniatures (25x50mm base) or large miniatures - here called big 'uns (that’s Ogre-sized miniatures or bigger) appropriated based or big vehicles or war machines will earn you 2 point. You should claim this ?oBig ?~un? bonus when you submit your entry.

For bigger transport and ridden monsters (not necessarily based but bigger than the standard 50x50mm base) you?Tll get one point for each additional (but always visible) crew member/rider - again claim this when entering.

Small scaled (15mm scaled or smaller) vehicles, vessels, ships, air planes, space ships etc. that plays the role of gaming pieces will, no matter base size, earn you 1 point each base (and if unbased, 1 point each miniature).

3. Theme Rounds Bonuses
Some of the 8 rounds will be ?~theme bonus rounds?T, in which participants may enter a new team that follows a pre-determined theme. The theme will be announced in the open round announcement. If the team meets the theme, you will be awarded a special point bonus (+ the bonus of a entering a team). What bonus points can be earned can be found in the ‘round opening’ announcements.

Should you decide not following the pre-determined theme but still enters a team, you will ?" of course ?" get the normal ?oteam entry bonus?.

Bloodbeard:

Will six cavalry models give 12 or 6 bonus points?

clam:

The Team entry bonus has a maximum of 6 points. So anything above 3 cavalry figures (or other big creatures) will only add to the WOW!-effect and probably earn you a few more votes

Bolg:

Looking forward to this one! (but you knew that already)

Small changes made after seeing the first round entries - if you feel strongly regarding the changes - drop me a PM

Regarding “entries” - previously said:

Entries
Participants will enter by sending a picture of their ‘team’.

A team can consist of any numbers of painted humanoid figures (incl. dreadnoughts, Iron golems, War jacks, Cyborgs, Robots etc).
War machines (in a broad sense) can be included in the team, but don?Tt count as a “team member”.

If more than one miniature is entered the team must follow a single, distinct theme. So you can?Tt do a Skaven ratman joined by a Space Marine and Alexander the Great - not even with a portal scenery piece in the background.

All figures should look like appropriated gaming miniatures - but can be of any common miniature scale, genre, manufacturer etc.

Regarding team entry bonus points - the rule was:
2. Team entry Bonus
To make it worth just entering the league ?" each team entered will earn you a Team Entry Bonus based one team size. For each painted team member you?Tll earn 1 point ?" with the maximum of 6 points. ?oMember count? is based on numbers of individual gaming based miniatures ?" so a base with more than one humanoid miniature will only count as one ?oteam member?.

Larger humanoid miniatures (appropriated based miniatures on a 50mm base or bigger or mounted cavalry miniatures) will earn you 2 point each. You should claim this ?oBig ?~un? bonus when you submit your entry.

It’s getting a bit techically, I’m afraid. The meaning here is, to reward people for “going big” and do large models like transport vehicles, war machine, tanks, self-propelled artillery etc - and let it count as a “large model”. So, I’ve decided to reward any significant and visible additional miniatures (like a rider, driver (crew) etc.) a team bonus of one point for each visible “crew”. So if you do a dragon with 2 riders (50x50mm based or bigger) - you’ll get 2 points for the dragon and one point for each rider - 4 point in total. The rule doesn’t apply to “ordinary” Cavalry (25x50mm based) - it will stay the normal 2 points bonus.

If you got any questions/are in doubt - please sent me PM, and especially if the point reward is significant for you.

Sorry for have to making another change, but is was the version 0.9 of the match point system that was stated it the rules:

1. Points for match result
There will be a maximum of 10 points to be earned in each match. The points will be based on vote percentages.
95%+/5% or less) is a clear win/loss - score 10/0 points
80%+/20% or less) is a major win/major loss ?" score 8/2 points
55%+/45% or less) is a minor win/minor loss ?" score 6/4 points
More than 45% but less than 55% is a draw ?" score 5/5 points
Will, from Round 2, be:
1. Points for match result
There will be a maximum of 10 points to be earned in each match. The points will be based on vote percentages.
95%+/5% or less) is a clear win/loss - score 10/0 points
85%+/15% or less) is a major win/major loss ?" score 8/2 points
67%+/33% or less) is a solid win/solid loss - score 7/3 points
55%+/45% or less) is a minor win/minor loss ?" score 6/4 points
More than 45% but less than 55% is a draw ?" score 5/5 points
And from this round and onwards this here is changed too:
Cavalry mounted miniatures (25x50mm base) or large miniatures (appropriated based monsters on a 50mm base or bigger vehicles and warmachines) will earn you 2 point. You should claim this ?oBig ?~un? bonus when you submit your entry.

Meaning, that large miniatures (like a GW Ogre or bigger) will give you the 2 points. This also means that a dwarf on rock on 40x40mm base - ain’t a big 'un. So miniatures that have character of a unit filler will only be rewarded 1 point each viable miniature. And if you enter something you feel should count as a “big 'un” - please claim it when you are entering, please.
