[Archive] Can anyone find me a picture of Mantic Shield Breakers?

nitroglysarine:

Mantic Shield Breakers - a mantic 2HW unit - huzzah!!!

they were released a couple of days ago, but the site doesn’t have any pictures that i could find, and google images seems to be failing me.

Can anyone find me a picture of some assembled images or even the sprue??

I really fancy some of these models, but I never buy without seeing.

'ELP!!

Tarrakk Blackhand:

Nice models, but 3 out of the 5 guys are the same?

nitroglysarine:

Sweet! I love them!!

Chears Tommy!!

Zanko:

I don’t like them - the heads look so compressed and apart from this they look so normal/ordinary/boring! :frowning:

They are not mine!

Yup one of the issues with the mantic models, but if you are buying them to convert, then they are cheep and perfect!!

Just bought myself an army box set with them in.

I'm heading toward a 4000pt army!!

nitroglysarine:

Lol, the dwarfs seem to have padded shirts on under the armour, nice to see some detail on teh models!

cornixt:

I noticed that on the other mantics too. Why can’t they do more than a couple of poses rather than repeating the same ones over and over? I thought the miniatures world had moved on from only having 4 different models in a unit.

They are cheep of that reason!, i prefer to have cheep models i can convert easily, these are an awesome basis of CD's - in my opinion that is.

Well, a nice cheep alternative.

is it bad i love mantic dwarves??

Thommy H:

is it bad i love mantic dwarves??
Yep. These are awful, awful models.

The_Bear_in_the_Hat:

Not pretty, but a decent template for a heavy conversion. They need a lot of work though.

Obsidian:

Rofl, well said Thommy H!

Then its true, love is blind!

And for the record, the models i'm almost done with are about 60% covered and everyone is converted, no model is the same.

:D

nitroglysarine:

HUZZAH (a word not used often enough IMO)

My Shield breakers have arrived, i am now happy, if not a little irritated as now I have yet more to convert.

when will the beards stop?? i’m seeing solenoids in my sleep.

HUZZAH (a word not used often enough IMO)
I use it all the time ;)

I'm afraid I hate those models too... Their feet remind me of the 1st ed 40k plastic Imp Guard... just awful models...

I'm currently on 124 twirly beards scupted. Quite good at them now...
