[Archive] CD 2hweapon Warrior

Loidrial:

I’m talking of the 2 big hats models with the 2h weapons.

What is the story behind them? Were they even released? If so, I never see them around.

How much might they be worth compared to a “normal” CD with axe n shield?

Info anyone?

:hat off

TheHoodedMan:

Take a look at the wiki. There should be listed all published big hats.

Bloodbeard:

[[Chaos Dwarf Models - 4th to 7th Edition]]

Malorndk:

Hey Loidrial

I have warrior a+b (the ones you talk about) but I can’t answer your question about how they where sold. The stock must have been rather small as they are pretty rare. Ones saw a big ebay army, that casually included a unit of 30 of these bad boys, so the models are out there, just extremely hard to come by, which in turn makes them more valuable.

yeah i had the idea already. the model itself is just a regular 2h weapon guy, right?
wont look bit strange an entire unit of 20 of them being just 2 models? oh well, thx for the info!

Bloodbeard
i know the range of models, only i had no idea if they were more rare because of only a small numbers of them or what.

TheHoodedMan:

A unit of 20 or more ot these would be impressive, be it same pose or not.

Probably it would be cheaper and more various poses to convert some from bull centaurs  like some people did.

Loidrial
I've got a unit of 31(including command) and it doesn't look that strange.
As for the cost, they are all over the place. I managed to get mine for 5-10 euro per model, but I've seen them priced at over 50 euro.

im still trying to collect some bulls, so far i have only 2 models. bannerman and another one, long long time.

I feel bad in throwing away bulls bodies too, i wont be able to use them for anything else even if i will have them.

Just saying, what do people use for create the lower part of the dwarves using the bull torsos?

Most people grab some feet from other models and then recreate the lower part of the armour

damn me and my totally inability of working with gs. aside filling some gaps i cant do anything else lol

Bloodbeard:

Check out Fuggit Khan and Zanthrax blogs, they both have the bull centuar turned infantry conversions (and retty recently in their blogs). Check it out, despite lack of skill. It’s awesome conversions.

As for the bull bodies it could be cool turning them into actual bulls with a bit of green stuff and minotaur heads.

Loidrial:

Just in general, what will be “cooler”? Your own version of the unit or the rare original unit?

ps Still trying to find some good bull on ebay but it is a mess.

And i still dont like the FW one, so im stucked with the original one on that way too huge base.

Loidrial
why should you necessarily build up a unit of those rare models (only 2 variants) when you can have these guyz? ;) http://solegends.com/citcat1994/cat1994p070-02.htm

BABIS
i mean together with them. tecnically the 2h weapon model is missing from it.
Im collecting slowly the models, trying to go with 1 of each, but with ebay being the one and only place it is quite bad.

Does anyone have here around pictures of their warrior A+B painted? I cant find them around

cornixt:

Supposedly, the A and B models were created for a Warhammer Quest expansion that was never released. I know that the models were available via GW online for several years. Numerous recasts exist of them, some with different hats that were taken from other CD models, so don’t assume that all of the ones online are authentic.

Fuggit Khan:

The A and B models were released here in the US in blister packs (not sure if they were sold in blister packs elsewhere?)…they were randomly inserted in the packs. I bought them whenever I came across them back in those days.

They are NOT Perry sculpts, lots of subtle differences (beards, armor scales, faces, etc) and don’t quite match the Perry models, not only are their Big Hats clearly patterned after Prussian Hussar busby hats, but the models themselves are considerably shorter too.

wow that sounds actually really bad, so what do you suggest in case it will be possible to buy them? just to pass over them?
For what you told it doesnt seem so good at all in comparison with the other dwarves.

Loidrial
I have planning to take a picture of my unit for a while and I think I will have some time this weekend, so I will post it then.
