[Archive] CD Blunderbuss Crew At Firing Range Video

Tarrakk Blackhand:

:hat off

Hi everyone!

I just completed this Stop Motion video about a small group of Chaos Dwarf Blunderbuss Warriors at the firing range.

It’s 28 seconds long and currently, my computer has no sound. Something doesn’t work with my old speakers since I had a virus removed at a repair shop. Therefore, I compiled the sound effects for this video totally “deaf”. I just lined up the sound waves to the picture and hoped for the best. (Listened to the sound track on a different stereo to count the beats.) I’ll be able to hear it tommorrow on my store computer.

Anyway, please comment on the video.

P.S. I left the web site address on the end of the video and in the side bar to help “Spread The Word” about this fourm.

Hobgoblyn:

It’s pretty good work. If I were to make a criticism that, beyond the bad music and the superfluous black screens, the “smoke” you created with cotton looks as though it is being sucked into the muzzles rather than being blown out of it. It should have spread out from the muzzle the whole way instead of getting thicker as it went back in.

It might also have been nicer to show models being knocked down by the shots rather than the sand.

However, it was a good attempt at a stop-motion action video and I think if you keep doing them in the future you could become really good.

Hobgoblyn
Great green hats of hashut dont be so mean hobgoblyn I really enjoyed it :D

Willmark:

Only a few critisms on my part which TB has.

I liked it and think he can do even better. It’s not bad now and ACDC is not cheesy.

CheTralfara:

Can someone tell me the name of that song? I’d like to sample those guitars for my “Coloringbook” sampledelica project

dncswlf:

Nice! good stuff! I think that was an AC/DC song… sounds like the beginning to "For Those About To Rock"

They are at a firing range… there wouldn’t be live targets at a firing range… well… ok, if you were chaos dwarves with hordes of slaves there may be, but I thought the sand was perfect!

Tarrakk Blackhand:

Actually, it was ground up pepper…and I haven’t done a stop motion in over a year because of the fact my computer doesn’t have sound.

Anyway, glad you guys liked it. Slaves?

Bolg:

Good start, now you shall make more!!! MORE!!!

Zanko:

I like stop.motion-films - this one too! :hat off

To be honest … nothing important to criticize!

Well you can nearly make everything better, bigger, more colourful or computer animated!

But that’s not the thing - the idea, the fun and to share the fun are much more important aspects than technical brillince! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Others can try to make it better! I wouldn’t be able to do it better! The Slaves for you are hard-earned! :cheers

Tarrakk Blackhand:

ThanX Zanko! Actually, I have been looking at how real BB’s fire and I could always make another video about this subject. This one was more of a “test”.

What would be Kool would be to film a new version of this that actually showed, through Stop Motion, what the BB firing rule is from the RH rules. The 15 Inch blast zone, the “Non-protection” rule, etc.

Willmark
Any song is cheesy when it is horribly out-of-place. Random old school hard rock trying to set a midevil fantasy theme is cheesy.
If you were using it to set the mood of a 1970s grungy drug scene, not so much so.

cornixt:

I like it!

This message was automatically appended because it was too short.

Tarrakk Blackhand:

Boy Hobgoblyn…I sure am sorry for making that abomination of a video for you. I should just rip it off the web for how rotten it is!

You’re right, my music selection was awful, my timing and effects were bad too. You’re totally right!

Maybe if you post some of your videos, I could really learn from it.

Please, let’s see your excellent work!

Post away!

Kera foehunter:

I think you pick a cool song to go with them !! what a cool way to come back to the site

So are you going to use A C -D C jail brake for a hobgoblin video ??

nitroglysarine:

i think i’d switch the song for A&A - Stand and deliver!

centauro enano:

Jajaja, very good to me liked the effect of smoke

Tarrakk Blackhand:

ThanX guys! That was hard to set up.

Borador:

Nice vid. I’m a big fan of stopmotion!

Keep it up!

Tarrakk Blackhand:

ThanX! What I really need now is some story lines. Maybe I can do some kind of movie based on the fluff in the CD book or from someone’s fluff.
