[Archive] CD outside of Dark Lands?

Grimstonefire:

I was writing some fluff today for some new locations on our map, and I thought it would be fun to include some brief descriptions of notable CD places around the warhammer world. These could be ones that were built long ago and have been abandoned and/or destroyed.

So specifically; where would you put them (ideally close to a named location)? What would you call them?

I had a few rough ideas:

A small colony of weapon/ armour smiths in Norsca

A mining colony in Araby or the Bad Lands (nice and warm).

Trading colonies in Lustria, Cathay, or even within the Empire…?

Slave raiding colonies in Ind, khuresh, Badlands.

minty:

well, I’d assume we had a hold in the new lands of lustria, afterall, CDs like gold alot, so that would be nice. There’s a hold of ‘black’ dwarves mentioned there too, sound familiar

A mining/work camp in the eastern steepes is a wise move too, as where next door, and it’s a virtualy untouched land (eg lots of recources)

Grimstonefire:

Is that from a book minty? I never bought the Lustria one. Did it say where in Lustria?

Ancient History:

According to Man o’War the Chaos Dwarf Fleet has besieged the High Elven Fortress of Dawn, so a colony or semipermanent mining/slave camp on the western side of Lustria and the “New World” is possible.

Thane Godri GoblinSlayer:

Does it mention how big the battle or siege was. If so their could be a whole fortress of chaos dwarfs.

ashur:

Ind, norsca and the steepes seems the best places to find CD working for others in exchange for gold or slaves. I specialy like the idea of CD in Ind, and the “thugee”-like cults they can find there as allies. It add some information about CD relations with their east frontier and not only with Chaos and the old world.

The same way you can add CD settlments around the world, you may have Kurgan tribes or others bringing tribute to Zharr-naggrund, like the scythes use to do for the assyrian and persian empires.

minty:

the english Wd has this map in on the lustria release issue thing. and it’s in lustria, yes, just give a bfrief synopsis of landmarks and it mentions a black dwarf hold, take that how you will:)

al-hashut:

hopefully it’s not just a pc way for GW to release a pigmy army :S

I like the idea of an Ind colony, perhaps a mine worked by kidnapped child slaves, sacrificial lava pit…

“Khali ma…Khali maaaa”

(all rights reserved by Steven Spielberg)

Godbob and his jolly rogers:

maybe in naggerroth and the CD raided a DE fortress and stole the slaves

Uzkul Werit:

“The Palace of the Plague Lord” novel said that a Chaos Dwarf was part of a mining operation along the Sea of Claws, looking for star metal. I reckon they’re be a few Dawi Zharr around there.

turquois dwarf:

nippon and the southlands just for fun!!

nipponese chaos dwarf navy could be interesting :idea

goes off to make nipponese chaos dwarf navy

minty:

ha! If the CDs tried to infest the great land of naggaroth we’d show em the right path, after all, we’ll just hammer you sideways:P

ashur:

Ambasadors, smiths and traders in norsca, the steppes and the city of spices.

grim, you must show us your fluff when it is done.

Kera foehunter:

well there has to be something about the sea wars having a the greatest navy

or invading pirates sealing vas wealth …

Godbob and his jolly rogers:

ha! If the CDs tried to infest the great land of naggaroth we'd show em the right path, after all, we'll just hammer you sideways:P

minty
rightly said minty DE could cast them astray oh yes CD site sorry :)

X-Porter:

Ancient History
The next time a big "Warhammer World Shaping Event" comes along, we should petition for this to be our part in it. Say hello to the new Fortress of Hashut Ascending :hashut

Also, after having seen an historical on Barbary Pirates, an island slaver port would make sense.

Cryonicleech:

My army fluff was about a dwarf who was expelled to the Dawi’Zharr lands who led raids into the old abondoned Karaks. perhaps a base there would be cool.

X-Porter
Thats exactly what warhammer araby is all about

westerntraitor:

Would it make sense for there to be a Chaos Dwarf outpost near Skavenblight. maybe trading warpstone or mechanical items for slaves as skavenblight has an abundance of slaves (they breed like rats… “chuckle”).

al-hashut:

I’d have thought we’d get enough rodent manpower from the skaven settlements in the darklands i think there’s a few)
