An interesting time for us, and something I have been following on and off for a few weeks, CDO has now moved into 3rd place for membership out of the Chaos Star. For those not aware, there are 4 forums in the Chaos Star, listed here by current membership:
- In the blue corner weighing in at a hefty 3,097 members is the beast from the east the Herdstone. - Next behind them the Daemonic Legion have managed to ensnare 1,853 poor souls. - Chaos Dwarfs Online despite all the odds has managed to call the sound the call of war and raised 1,535 members. - Whilst the unending hordes of the Chamber of the Everchosen have fallen into 4th with 1,531 members.
If anyone is curious we are currently second in the post count listing:
Who needs games workshop support. We tend to support each other with ideas and concepts and with all the work that others have done before us to inspire us. We are the masters of our own battle plans and destinies !
I’ve played Beastmen since the 6th ed book, I’ve had a back-burner DoW project since the 5th ed armybook and I have a CD army moving along at Mv 3.
Talk about abusing oneself… no wonder I’m caught in the grip of Slaanesh.
Still, 3k+ members and 200k+ posts and only slightly better treated than CDs… Beasts are one tough crowd… totally deserving of the 2nd wound on the profile… (if that was too obscure, don’t worry about it) :~
Maybe their off topic section has a post count, or they’re an older forum. Those are the two reasons I can come up with, either that or excitement with the rumors when they were believed to be updated this year.

If you posted about 100,000 times that would probably get us closer
Swiss showed the key stat though, we were always destined to overtake Everchosen and Daemonic Legion eventually because our average user post is higher. Unless our membership rapidly jumps because of a new book (I think we could probably manage at least 500 in first year), the average post count per member at the herdstone means we will probably never catch them up on that one. In fact based on our stats if they stopped posting entirely it would still take us about 3.5 years to catch up based on current stats (rough guess).
Membership though I don’t know. Maybe we could hit 3000+, but of course theirs will be going higher as well.

I was surprised that Mortal Chaos was 4th. I would have thought they'd be more popular than that.
wallacer
More splintered audience I think. I have another suggestion but I'm not voicing that publicly.
I think the explanation is that for some reason all Beast Lords end up the 'Stone. But yes, I do think "their" (or our, depends on how you look on it) OT section, of which there are actually two, does contribute post count.
But the 'Stone as been around much longer so it isn't that surprising that the postcount is higher.
Admittedly though there seems to be a connection with "under dogs" and larger post count. Maybe in lieu of actual gaming we have to console ourself with socialising. Ironically that is the most important part of why I play.
