So here is my list for next years west coast tournament season. The idea is that besides the tiny unit of gunners there are no easy points to grab in the list. Meanwhile I push forward and smash up what I can, holding things in place with the Iron Daemon and pounding weaker things with the Hellcannon
Should be a pretty nasty list to face, I can’t see any obvious issues. You have all the bases covered and even have a good amount of drops(relatively) where you have different units. I personally would prefer a unit of 30 Hobgoblins with either bows&shields or additional hand weapons instead of the Fireglaves for the same points, generally they’re better in my opinion.
I really like your Prophet layout I think I might steal it!
the list seems pretty good. personally Im with mlp about dropping the fireglaives. I would also drop the charm shield for enchanted shield. if he is nestled in a unit he wont have to worry about being sniped by a cannonball.
Reason for charmed shield is it means he can get into challenges and hopefully survive.

well lets see, charm shield ignores the first hit suffered. with a weapon skill of 5 you will likely ignore a 4+ to hit roll regardless of the strength, then it counts as a normal shield thereafter. if he uses the enchanted shield, he will not ignore the 4+ hit. if the strength of the hit was low it would then face a Toughness 5. and if it was lucky enough to wound it would then face a 2+ armour save. on the other hand if the Strength of the hit was high, then it would still face the High Toughness and the better armour save provided by Enchanted shield. personally I think the constant protection of the enchanted shield is a better choice then the one use protection of the charm shield.
I like your list and think it definitely has potential. But everyone is different so here’s what I would change…
Do your Infernal Guard get shot so much that they actually need shields? I think you have enough other big targets on the table that you don’t need them.
With an average of 7 power dice, I don’t see the need for a level 2 Infernal Engineer. I think you can easily get away with a level 1 since he is likely going to be babysitting the machines in the rear. I also don’t think the Ruby Ring of Ruin will do that much for you but it is such a fun item, I can see it staying. Personally I don’t think you’ll use it enough to justify the points.
Assuming you are going to place both the BSB and the Sorcerer-Prophet in the bug unit of Infernal Guard, I don’t think a champion is really needed. You have plenty of characters to accept challenges.
I’d spend the 10 points for a Manburner in the K’daii.
I’d upgrade the BSB’s shield to the Enchanted Shield.
Something worth trying on your fireglaive unit is a champ with a naphta bomb so your fireglaives will be firing at short range with their stand and shoot reactions.
A build i am starting to like with the Castellan:
Mask of the Furnace
Shrieking Blade
Shield
That way you’re opponents will have to take fear tests when they come into base contact with you and lets him effectively deal with ethereal units.
I like the charmed shield on the Sorcerer-Prophet as it will allow you to escape a miscast or cannon ball to the face if it comes to that. Is he going in the large unit, small unit or on his own?
Nice Deamonsmith build i have almost the exact same build but i usually play with Fire instead of Death in hopes of getting Flaming Sword of Rhuin or Fulminating Fire Cage. Like the Ruby Ring because it is easy to get off, especially with a lvl4 Hashut guy out there, plus it can be some what devastating when coupled with Ash Storm.
I’m of the humble opinion that if you take a Hellcannon you might as well take two, but that is just me.
All in all, i think it is a great list and very flexible in what it can do.

Mask of the Furnace already causes fear, why would you need the Shrieking Blade too? You could substitute the Biting Blade or Relic Sword for the same points
As a veteran fireborn player (lol) I think you will have a hard time holding on to those points. That unit has always been more like a missile to me. 8 would work for VP denial, but you might want to go with Bull Centaurs instead, HW + shield backed by Taru’uk with a stuborn crown they are extremly hard to shift.
I find the Hobgoblin Khan on a wolf essential for redirecting, dealing with chaf, and stepping on Manglars. They are really usefull in combo with the iron daemon to offset its manuverability issues and occasionly keep it from getting stuck on a unit of fast cav or an eagle. Having 2 khans is actually what I would recomend, 3 even if you can fit it.
One of the tricky parts of lists like this is that you have 2 speeds of units, turbo FAST and Crawling…make sure you get some practice games in to get a feel for this before you finalize your unit mix. The K’daai need to get into combat ASAP but can then endup unsupported. You could put the movement banner on your big block…
