Hello all,
This may seem a bit odd to most people here who have moved on to the LOA rules, but my friends and I have decided to play 6th edition.
We have started a map based campaign and of course I am playing RH: Chaos Dwarfs. Now the question that I have is how do Blunderbusses work from an elevated position such as a castle wall or a hill, also how would you fire them if they were staggered across a rampart on a castle wall?
I know this one may be a long shot, but I was just curious what you guys would do before I make a house rule and we have to vote on it.
:hat off
Thanks,
Matthew Masiello

When elevated, no extra rules. When staggered, I’m not sure I completely understand what the unit layout would be.
Time of Madness:
In 6th edition only the 1st rank of a shooting unit could shoot. That has changed with 8th edition, you can now have 2 ranks fire and often cases more with the “volley fire” rules.
The only way in 6th edition the second rank could fire was in an elevated position like a hill.
Hopefully that helps,

Thanks for the quick replies!
As to the shooting from a wall question, I had thought that the units on the rampart were separated by an inch but I went back and checked. It turns out they are not so I guess the arc of fire is 12" forward by the width of the unit, and only at strength 3 for one rank, not very effective for a siege.
Thanks,
