[Archive] Chaos Dwarf spotting in Warriors of Chaos book

Tarrakk Blackhand:

Don’t know if you guys caught this one or not…(Probably since I’m so behind the times).

Ok, page 9 where the map of “Northern Lands Under the Shadow of Chaos” is…near the right hand bottom corner, just under where it says Eastern Steppes" it says “The Trails of Hashut”.

Karak Dum is also shown which lies east of The World’s Edge Moutains, which would also note a Dwarf stronghold in that region. Could this be Chaos Dwarfs?

I know it’s not too much, but at least it helps confirm that Chaos Dwarfs are still in the books.

Sorry if we know this one already.

Patrikson:

Awsome mate chaos dwarves are still around but i think they are gonna stop making them

So yea quite a few chaos Dwarf spottings around in Miniatures and books

Tarrakk Blackhand:

They won’t stop making the Hellcannon : It’s part of the Chaos Army.

But for our CD’s…hopefully they’ll get a resurgence. That’s why we’re all here at CDO. To keep the CD’s alive!

Patrikson:

I dont mean to say this but

“LONG LIVE THE REV…CDO!” Also

Tarrakk do you know where i can find some cheap Chaos Dwarf miniatures painted or unpainted?

Thommy H:

Chaos Dwarf references in 7th Edition books.

And, incidentally, the last issue of Word of Hashut contained a whole campaign pack based on the Trails of Hashut location on that map.

Grimstonefire:

I like to think that there are at least a few CD in Karak Dum. They could be forging chaos armour from the massive forges.

There is nothing canon to suggest they are there.

Tarrakk Blackhand:

@Patrikson - The only original CD figures I’ve found are Bloodbowl figures and they’re at Sentry Box in Calgary, Alberta. Other than that, try Ebay or our own trade section in this fourm.

@ Grim - I don’t think there’s much in current fluff to describe what Karak Dum is, other than the fact it’s some kind of Dwarf (Or possibly Chaos Dwarf) stronghold…just by the name and cross referencing it with other Dwarf Stronghold names. We can assume it’s definatly possible that it is a CD stronghold as it lies east of the World’s Edge Moutains and is close to The Trails of Hashut…but other than that, at this point it isn’t Cannon.

Grimstonefire:

Karak Dum was a Dwarf hold that was lost when the shadow of chaos expanded, that much is canon. In daemonslayer it describes how tens of thousands of chaos daemons, beastmen and mortals were fighting around it.

There is nothing recent as far as I know to say if anyone currently lives there, or what’s going on around it. Seeing as it is still a massive fortress I would say it’s probably inhabited by something, be it daemons or tribes of beastmen/mortals.
