Gmaleron:
Hello everyone. Today I just found out that the owner and tournament runner @ my local game store does not allow Forgeworld books in his tournaments…which means I am out of luck in regards to running Chaos Dwarfs from the Tamurkhan book, which was a big selling point for me to go these guys. However I am such a fan of the book and of the models on forgeworld that I plan on getting them and running them anyways for friendly games around the store. This basically means I would have to run them as Dwarfs in his tournaments and wanted to know can this be done reasonably well?
Also BIG question that I just want answered: Could I run the forgeworld list in a tournament such as Ard Boyz or any other GW sponsored/run tournament? If I can does anyone know where I can find documentation saying this or anything that shows that I can? Really just want to know before spending a ton of $ on these guys, thanks I appreciate it!

I’d campaign him into letting you use them. let him borrow the book, specifically show him the bit in the book that says that legion of Az is a legal warhammer army and show him that the big tourneys allow them. European Team Championships allow them ( http://warhammer.org.uk/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=1199544#p1199544 ) as does Adepticon ( AdeptiCon 2015 Development: Warhammer Fantasy: The Times They Are A-changin' )

Where does it say that the legion of Az is a legal warhammer army?
hobomcg:
Here in the UK the LoA list is allowed in pretty much every major event, the book is balanced by its pretty bad core choices and pretty good k’daii destroyer
Gmaleron:
Thats good to know, but I am here in Utah! lol, not trying to be rude but if you guys could please tell me what page in the Tamurkhan book it says that the Legion of Az is a legal warhammer army? Or where I might find if it is in some other form of documentation? That is what I really need as I dont have my friends book to look through right now and I am going to the store tomorrow to hopefully convince him!

Even if you are in Utah, if it is accepted by the ETC and most UK tourneys (as well as adepticon and likely dozens others), it makes it Kind Of A Big Deal (ie your local guy deserves to take another look)

Thank you! I will see what I can do about convincing him, if I may ask what does ETC stand for?

Warhammer European team championships, google it up and check it out

I would disagree with “most major tournaments in the UK allow it” because GW itself isn’t allowing it in its tournaments just yet - thy are bowing to pressure though and considering it next year.
Just let him look it over and point out how may big tournaments ARE doing it and try to avoid mention of GW sponsored ones: if they come up, say they’re going to be using them next season.
Threadbare:
You mentioned playing friendly games in the store. I would try and do a lot of those, the more people that see and play against it the better. This way when a tournament does come up chaos dwarfs aren’t such a mystery to other players. And maybe it will help get more voices on your side.
Then again if you smash all your opponents it could have the opposite effect

Is this the official line, HB? I hadn't heard anything, but if this is true and they are actually considering it, this is greatly promising news.
Bronze Bull:
I’d like to address the OP concern about whether they can be fielded as a Dwarf list and the answer is yes, you can.
Fireglaives become handgunners, the helmed Infernal Guard become Longbeards or Ironguard, the Magma Cannon makes a rather large Flame Cannon, your Sorcerers become Rune Priests. Sadly, you cannot take the Llammasu or Great Taurus I believe unless they’re allowed in Storm of Magic?
You will need to pick up some units like Miners, Slayers, and Cannons to fill out the list but if I might recommend you can paint them up to be suitably evil looking. Slayers in particular can be made to look terrifying and the plastic ones from Avatars of War are amazing!

khedyarl: Have a quick search on here and you’ll find the answer
(I started a thread about it, lol).
Bronze Bull: It’s actually where the rules from the Tamurkhan Lammasu come from, lol.
khedyarl:
I’m dumb as hell sometimes - saw it now, HB. Heh.
Thanks!
Hashut’s Blessing:
Not dumb, just hadn’t found the thread was all.
besides, you also asked about proxying
Not sure if I said it in the other thread, but they said you can proxy them as warriors of Chaos (on appropriate bases) or as Dwarfs.
