I tend to do a mixture of colours, but try to avoid lighter colour (excepting grey here and there). I have given some of the unit champions and characters and blue-black beard. I simply use Ultramarines Blue and then Black Ink it. The sheen can be explained as pig-grease or something to keep the “ringletted” style of the beard.

I think that the sort of standard CD has jet black hair with maybe and oil type shine to it, but you could have them any colour, you could have the colour of beard denote rank in place of the size of hat, black for warriors, red for more elites / heroes, white for the lords showing there age, or may be cds are just really vain and bye loads of black hair dye

I’m going to go with black highlighted with fortress gray, then apply a wash of different colours.
i think green, red and blue will work nicely.
along with more classic gray, brown and gingery.

In warhammer world each type of magic has its own colour, so if CD are infused with chaos power and use 4 lores (shadow, death, fire, metal) their features should come from this 4 colours. I doubt there are any blondes, or brown. Besides they live in hot desert/wasteland, so dark skins/hairs offer more survivalibility.
