Yeah, I actually wrote it when I had a vague plan to amass an army of Halflings. I still want to do it one day, despite the lack of official rules.

Based on the background material I know…
Halflings are resistant to Chaos and do not normally mutate unless exposed to massive ammounts of Chaos energy. And I mean massive.
They’re fairly content in their lot and don’t have overmuch cause to turn to Chaos willingly, especially as it gives them few, if any, benefits.
Arakagaan Calasson:
Halfings are as far as I am aware totally chaos resistant. Like 1000%, impossible to get them to mutate or anything.
Chaos will overrun the world, expect for the moot, which will be FREE!
Maul:
I sense a modeling opportunity here…
Halflings corrupted by Nurgle (He slipped something in the punch)=nurglings
Swissdictator:
Well they could just destroy the moot, but that would render the point moot I suppose.
Ba-dum tisch.
Godbob and his jolly rogers:
Well they could just destroy the mootit wouldn't be to hard for a chaos warlord to think how to destroy the moot if you can't currupted it :P

From what I remember there were a few races the slann created that were immune to the affects of chaos and halflings were one of them.

Haha. You just got pwnt in the face.. And I was going to actually put a link to my post but decided later not to.. But I bet the next time someone posts up chaos and halfling in the same post, it won't have anything to do with mutated halflings.. And if that happens, then my work is done.

What ar’ you’ lads be talkin’ aboot? You an you’re strang talk aboot us ‘alflings and this thin’ ya call “Chaos”.
us 'arflings is clean, simple, an pure folk
zorn sabretooth:
But halfings are resistant to chaos e.g can’tmutate
Hashut’s Blessing:
Firstly, they were stated as being Psychotic Halflings. This means they have a mental instability, not necessarily meaning they are warped by Chaos. Secondly, Thommy H, Halflings are the one race that IS immune to Chaos corruption. In that new fluff you mentioned, it states it. They were unfinshed as a race though, hence why they look and act like children and why they aren’t the dominant race. Ogres are heavily resistant to Chaos, but not completely immune.
slev:
But halfings are resistant to chaos e.g can'tmutateThere is cannonical evidence of Halfling mutation, so you're not quite right there. However, this was an extreme case (chaos cultists trapping them for years in prisons of pure warpstone).

Hashut’s Blessing:
slev, I’m interested to see where that fluff is… Is it still current?
slev:
It’s in the Warhammer Fantasy Role Play 1st Edition suplement “Empire in Flames”, which was the seventh and final part of the original Enemy Within campaign.
It’s very very hard to come by. GW did declare it cannonical, then proceeded to ignore elements* of it Nigel Stilman didn’t like…
The thrust of the matter is though, that if you try hard enough you can foce the mutation. Unless it’s done deliberately or a Halfling spends a LOT of time in one of the Chaos Wastes, they won’t be mutating.
*Key points being Ghal Maraz being lost at the start and end, how Sigmar passed from the world, Karl Franz’ assassination, the Imperial civil war, Heinrich’s rise to Emperor, the fact that Soland still exists and Sylvania isn’t full of Vampires (the last two where completely and badly retconned in)…

*Key points being Ghal Maraz being lost at the start and end, how Sigmar passed from the world, Karl Franz' assassination, the Imperial civil war, Heinrich's rise to Emperor...That would make an awesome basis for a GW worldwide campaign!

Hashut’s Blessing:
Ah. Well, I’d have said that since WHFRP2 is now out, it’s unlikely it counts as canonical. On the other hand, I do agree that if forced with enough magic and warpstone (in a vastly uneconomical manner) they might have their hair tinged blue. Mildly.
Not meant to sound confrontational, just my view…
Merchant:
What if you wanna use them in a game???
- I was thinking about using the DOW Halfling profile and point cost.
:cheers
Kera foehunter:
they make cool slaves or chaos scouting groups
