I have seen this of course. And I don't find it really necessary to post it here. Don't you?.
Though for people who might like to play Warhammer but want to avoid GW. For whatever reason.
I personally check White Dwarf Daily everyday.
Herby
Maybe it's not necessary but could be useful for a lot of people. you answered tht yourself by saying" people who try to avoid GW"
GW also doesn't put out any chaos dwarfs so I'm sure most people who play them don't check GW daily
Also I'm pretty sure his post was more-so to share the videos an not so much the paints actually being released
That being said, for the people who do check GW everyday, (myself included) the videos may be helpful on how to use the paints, especially people who are new to the hobby (myself included here as well) , or even just want to learn new tips for painting
I think the post was justified and I appreciate you sharing those videos Tarrak
Thank you. Actually, I just wanted to be the first person to post something new about GW that the others might not have known about, for a change. Usually, I post something “New” that you guys knew about months ago.
Games Workshop: Macclesfield have already issued a product recall via their facebook page for Agrellan Earth but they?Tll only get replaced on Saturday when they get their new delivery.
I think I might pick up a couple of these paints, especially the Typhus Corrosion. Usually I’m the first here to talk in a bad way about GW, but I admit that I consider this release a very good idea! I always found rust, Verdigris and weathering to be extremely difficult effects to get “right”, so a paint that does it for me is more than welcome :).
And here comes a thought: The range of paints, powders, brushes, inks, etc (GW or not) increased dramatically over the past 10 years, and (hopefully) will expand even more in the future. Where before only a few people in the world were able to call themselves miniatures painters now almost everyone can knock out decent models in a fairly easy way… I wonder if this will get even easier? And if so, will it attract more people to our hobby or vice versa?
Well while GW knocking is a popular sport on many forums the new paint system can only be a good thing for the hobby.
I know that GW are pushing the games towards using larger numbers of models and therefore needing to paint so an easier route to painting batches of models will be a boon to many hobbyists (myself included).
I remember the debate in the store when the new paint system was first introduced. There were complaints from some of the guys that it was unfair that it meant people who were not good painters could now produce good looking miniatures with less effort than they themselves have always put in.
I just couldn?Tt understand this argument the more good painted models on the table the better and if you?Tre aiming to win painting competitions then you?Tll just have to up your game as has always been the case.
This latest batch means that weathering, corrosion and wear effects have just got easier for the masses and the quality of painting on the table top has just had another step change upwards.
As far as I?Tm concerned it just means more, better looking armies to play against.
I remember the uproar around my area when Armypainter dipping colour was first introduced. All of a sudden sub-standard painters could produce good looking armies. There was even a serious debate about whether or not dipped armys should be allowed on tournaments and / or how to penalize using dipping (back then a good portion of your overall score around here came from softpoints which were partly awarded for painting quality).
Thank you. Actually, I just wanted to be the first person to post something new about GW that the others might not have known about, for a change. Usually, I post something "New" that you guys knew about months ago.
Thank you for the announcement. I don’t read WD any longer (although I occassionally check the website) and am thus prone to miss new releases.
Good videos. They remind me of when WD was good (not only the craftsman hobby articles). Our hobby group might pick up some of the special effect paints.
