[Archive] Copper Blood

Fuggit Khan:

Completely random, nonsensical post on my part…take it with a grain of salt.

Last night I friend was over at my place, and he commented that I had a small bit of green paint on my hand (I was painting just prior to his arrival). He joked that I was bleeding Hobgoblin blood, and I replied “No, I’ve got Hashut Copper based blood, so I bleed green like Mr Spock”.

So…what if Chaos Dwarfs actually did have copper based blood from corrupting influences of Chaos and Hashut (Copper)?

Would they bleed green? :sick

Admiral:

Blue, rather. Most animals’ blood is red because of oxygenized iron, but molluscs like horseshoe crabs have copper based blood of blue colour, nowadays extracted for medicinal use. It wouldn’t be out of place if some oddball Warhammer mutant, Chaos Dwarf, Human or otherwise, did have copper-based blood, but it’d likely be an individual exception.

Skink:

…And on a totally random note as well, I might say that a K’daai bleeding molten copper through the cracks on its skin would look epic. Now THAT would bring the Burning Bright rule to a totally different level.

cornixt:

Copper tends to form materials that are either blue or green in colour, depending on how the molecule is arranged but it can be various other colours too. Cu2O is red or yellowish, while CuO is black. When unoxygenated in crab blood it is light yellow but goes dark blue when oxygenated.
