Kera foehunter
why? someone fart?

Swissdictator:

It got up to 50 Monday, then 55 yesterday. I opened the window as it was so nice out, very refreshing.

It’s back in the 40’s today. It’s annoying when you’re spoiled with 50’s then go back down.

Kera foehunter:

no most of us don’t live in dc like you !!we don’t get a chance of hot air in the winter

BilboBaggins:

Snow and ice the last two Wednesdays and this Wednesday it hits 68. What gives? I’m finally used to winter and now this red-head needs the sunblock. Yes I play Slayers and have red hair. I was tempted to moose it up once but couldn’t bring myself to do so.

Khan!:

:frowning: Fahrenheit system makes no sense to me! I’m used to people dying of heat stroke at 40 degrees. Why can’t we all switch to the celsius like sensible folk?

In other news, Canada is cold again. Well, not that cold really. But a little bit. I’m sure I’ll see another few days of -40 before spring. :frowning:

BilboBaggins:

OK it was 20C today in Philadelphia last two weeks it snowed and was -1C

Why can’t the rest of you use Farenheit like us Americans.

tetnis:

It was in the high 60s low 70s for me… Virginia FTW!

No kidding. every time a politician speaks, nothing but crap comes out.. It's a smelly situation to say the least.

Swissdictator:

It’s down to the 30’s again. I had to close my window. :frowning:

Oooooooooooooooooooooh this is going to be entertaining…

Next week I'm in Winnipeg... actually, about 1 hr south of Winnipeg in butt-f**k nowhere, Manitoba, but it looks like it's a warm snap out there of only -10C *phew* last year when my boss went he said with windchill it was -55C *brrrrrrrrr*

Khan!, I use Fahrenheit in summer (sounds warmer! 85F! woo!) and Celsius in winter (main method of temperature telling since we all know Canada is a 'winter' country)... spring and fall is denoted by "sweater weather" or not. lol. it's highly scientific.

everything is melting here, lots of puddles. today is gusty, with 90km/hr winds... about the same as Kera...

spring is my least favourite season.

snowblizz:

Been going from -2 (monday evening) to -10 C around here. -5 right now.

I wouldn’t mind except some #¤%&@£$ f–n stole my coat on monday.

I actually moseyed downtown and bought new gloves and a wooly cap just in time for the temperature to go down a bit.

Swissdictator:

@Khan!: I’m all for my country converting to metric! Believe me! It makes so much more sense. It would take a little getting used to Celsius, as I’m used to think 0° as starting to get cold as opposed to chilly with Celsius.

Willmark:

... Winnipeg in butt-f**k nowhere,

Sojourn
Well isn't that a pain in the @ss then... ;)

Khan!:

BilboBaggins
20 in February?? Goodness gracious! Even our chinooks in Calgary don't get us higher than 15. This kind of weather is unusual for Philadelphia then?

Haha oh Manitoba. I tend to associate Manitoba with terrifying weather and flooding. What on earth are you doing there? When I think of Canada I often unconsciously skip over the middle praire provinces because they are cold and boring ;) ....as opposed to cold and less boring? Science is my favourite pasttime as well!

Hm fair enough. I guess whatever system we're trained in is the one that we're gonna be most comfortable with regardless of whether one or another is "better." I've always found it odd that the freezing point and boiling point of water in fahrenheit seemed completely unrelated.

Kera foehunter:

wow Canada has some weird names for city Sourjourn !!

two_heads_talking:

just blame the inuits, and the french for all the goofy names.

You want goofy names then come to Pennsylvania.

Between the Welsh names like:
Wynmoor
Radnor
Bala Cynwyd
Tredyffrin
Uwchlan

Some changed to Welsh spelling just to keep in line with the rest of the Welsh area.

Bryn Mawr.
Gladwynne

Then add the Amish (Who says they don't have a sense of Humor) these names are all near each other:
Bird in Hand
Blue Ball
Intercourse
Paradise

And a few other names:
Neshaminy
Wawa
Jersey Shore (Which is nowhere near the New Jersey shore)
State College (Yes, that is the town Penn State is in)

two_heads_talking:

I stay out of Pennsylvania, even though it is nearby my commonwealth of VA, for alot of reasons… Goofy names aren’t high on the list though… But there are some doozies…

Grimstonefire:

@Bilbobaggins

Check out this for the name of a welsh town:

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

www.Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.com

Try saying that after a few pints! :cheers
