So it randomly crossed my mind the other day after watching Thor dark world, what could possibly be a better theme for chaos dwarf Slaves than daemon bound humans/orcs /hobgoblins etc!?
You get much stronger Slaves in battle, they burn bright and hard and serve their purpose.
Fluff wise you’d have to cross that bridge between forcibly binding them, and a voluntary possession where both the slave and the daemon were enslaved.
But it would make for a very characterful army Imo.
Fantastic idea! Sounds similar to the idea of K’daai Fireborn, but binding them within the bodies of slaves. Also lends itself to a thematic general or even just a unit-filler, with a Chaos Dwarf sorcerer still there holding it all together for as long as possible
Remember though: The slave that burns twice as bright burns half as long - Dawi’ Zharr proverb from the Dark Times.
Interesting idea. Maybe one unit is enough, it could be better integrated into an existing army (no matter which game system). Do you already have a special design in mind, or should a specific painting suffice?
Certainly fitting! Daemonic possession is something that should be played up more in Chaos Dwarf concepts.
Any plans to draw or even sculpt some Daemonically possessed slaves?
40k Daemonhosts could possibly give some visual clues for ideas, though the overall look should be much different for Chaos Dwarf purposes in order to be distinctly their own thing.
T9A have by the way got Daemonically possessed fanatic berzerkers on fire, Disciples of Lughar, going for their Infernal Dwarves (art by Helblindi, reverse-engineered into WHFB K’daai Cultist). A hybrid CD/K’daai Fireborn. But those are not slaves.
