[Archive] Daemon engine's philosophy and convertions!

Tyranoth The Ashen:

All hail the rape train of dwarfy death!

So what we know so far. The Daemon engine is pretty much an automaton that will be the host, a shell for a daemon. A machine which has been constructed/fused with a Daemonic entity, esulting in the combination of the two into a living mechanical creature that often is all but unstoppable. They are forged with both mechanical parts and biological limbs.

They have insatiable bloodlust and revel in violence and destruction. Often they will destroy anything that lies in their path, regardless of allegiance, and so must be chained up until they can be unleashed upon the enemy.

Personal notes:

" So I bow to my Dawi-Zharr for their achievement in the fantasy universe. In 40k, is another matter. But the Chaos dwarfs must have been mad scientists to come up with this idé to forge this weapons. "

So we know that Daemons comes in all shapes and sizes. How much weight can a small daemon fused with a machine carry? If we take the picture of Iron Daemon war machine in Tamurkhan, that daemon looked more like a large poltergeist. So if that small but tall daemon can take on the role of an Iron Daemon war engine, what can a larger daemon doo?

Convertions.

The Iron Daemon war machines have the rules as fallowed. It has cannons and a crew of three Dawi-Zharrs. So how large Machine can we make now? We can make a walking battle tank like Metal Gear Rex, armed with large cannons like a Tau XV88 Broadside battlesuit, with the Chaos Dwarfs inside.

The iron daemon gives you free hands to work with. So Let’s make something crazy. Pen and papers. Design the ultimate Iron Daemon war machine. No need for a locomotive. I know the CD is an industrial society. But most of the CD are warriors.

Hill_Billy_Bub:

You could possibly use a soul grinder. Just do a little converting, add some dwarfs maybe turn the cannon into two, add a tow hitch like a true redneck and BAM iron daemon.

Abecedar:

I think I can see where you are going with this. In my mind I’m seeing a large, squat multi legged thingy instead of the steam train bit.

I wouldn’t make it too much bigger than the current one. That would make it a too big a target

Grimstonefire:

If I ever get round to a daemonic siege mortar it will be based on a soul grinder but with wheels and potential for legs.

Hill_Billy_Bub:

for the legs you can try to invert them to be cranes that load it

Was this for my suggestion?

What I was thinking was a transformer type model where the legs fold underneath and have the wheels on the sides.

Not sure why I think that's a cool idea when just building it fairly normally would be a whole lot easier and more practical fluff wise.

Grimstonefire
If you do make it a transformer, I will highly disappointed if you don't paint a Decepticon symbol on it.

Hill_Billy_Bub:

you could also use the 40k defiler instead of a soulgrinder

That would have been gold! I have seen some guy makeing an ORK Optimus Prime truck that can transform. Would be fun to do something for CD. How about Megatron ;D

Grimstonefire:

Before the Fw models came out, that was more my vision for cd warmachines actually. No wheels just monster siege engines looking like decepticons.
