When I look at the book it seems to indicate that you cant center it on a unit? It says to place a marker than scatter. You can’t really place a marker in the center of a unit or on the head of a dragon. I like its potential, and its a neat little unit but I always feel wrong when shooting it.

You can place the marker wherever you like within distance/direction, even on someone’s head. The marker is solely to keep a record of where you chose. You don’t have to use one at all if you can designate a specific point easily enough.

RAW says you can’t place it on friendly units or enemy in combat, not that you can’t place it on units at all.
