[Archive] Dervish's Incredibly Slow Blog

Dervish Helldance:

Hello - long time no see. Recently started on a smaller dwarf army (quickly ducks from the stones), and thought I’d use some of the models from it to instead make dawi zharr. I did after all begin on some chaos dwarfs a while ago, so I have a colour scheme and a loonk to go after - here’s some of the things I have for now:

A death rocket:

A hellcannon (if you recognize this one from other forums, the reason of that is that I am also known as Destandor and Saintspirit):

One of the crewmen:

One of the (formerly) WIP crewmen:

That’s it for now. I have five more crewmen, plus a Warlord (or whatever the CD lords is called) painted, but not here at the moment. I should be able to get some pics of them soon. So what do you think?

gIL^:

Nice start buddy i eagerly await your next post.

vulcanologist:

Yep very nice start! Especially like your deathrocket!

Dervish Helldance:

Thanks both!
Here’s the various crewmen I have made, plus a despot/warlord:

This one has got hair, but I’m considering removing it;

as I think it looks a bit odd. The same with the overlord:

That’s what Chaos Dwarfs I have for now. It will probably take some time until I have something new to show.

tjub:

I like the warlord as he is, the hair looks good. A bit Baggronor-feel over him…

Xander:

Sweet start! Keep up the good work!

Abecedar:

great work. don’t believe you made a slow start. some of us haven’t started at all (shuffles feet)

Dervish Helldance:

Thanks all!

I like the warlord as he is, the hair looks good. A bit Baggronor-feel over him…

True, much of the inspiration is from his army.

Dervish Helldance:

Hello again. I just now built a normal CD warrior with great weapon - just as with usual dwarfs, I figured you might as well strike last and strike hard (with such a low initiative). In fact, the first of my home made CDs I feel was made right:

Also, I here have a WIP War Golem (not sure though how its right arm should look, considering daemonic constructs can’t have guns) based on an ork in mega armour:

Oh and that’s right, if anyone have a spare hellcannon crewman with shovel I would like to buy it, as I want to convert one such into a baneguard (a la Slim).

Thommy H:

I like the Construct conversion. Judging solely by the terminology you’re using, I’m assuming you’re using my book? Have you read the new version? Link in my sig.

Dervish Helldance:

Yes, I do indeed use your book, and no, I didn’t know it had been updated. Thanks for mentioning it (I like that you changed the warlords to overlords)!

Dervish Helldance:

Something minor new, is the stormguard, who was inspired by the Annihilator illustration in the 7th edition Indy GT CD armybook (page 26). He has a personal, more devastating blunderbuss:

Also, the golem is almost finished built, so it should come up soon.

Dervish Helldance:

The pics of the first bunch of warriors should come up very soon (just waiting for the camera to come back). Until then, I suppose I could show you a couple of my other chaotic models; first we have Destandor, Jailor of Hated Magic, Guardian of Skull Mountain:

Next a simple fire sorcerer:

And now the camera came back while I was writing this, so here’s also the first painted five Chaos Dwarf Warriors (The Iron Guard stands in the middle, with the one I posted earlier on his right):

How do they look?
