Grimstonefire:

I think it’s a real shame he didn’t do some slighly dynamic poses. The blunderbuss guys would have looked pretty cool with some flame throwers actually…

Tarrakk Blackhand:

Funny how these threads always seem to come back to Scibor’s work. It’s like a wheel with an arrow on it. So far this same wheel’s gone through three rotations.

Still, the mini’s are Kool.

I've never really been a fan of dynamic poses for the sake of dynamic poses. For orcs, dynamic poses are fitting, but for a well trained or disciplined army, they wont be flailing around because they're going to hit the guy next to or behind them.
An example is the Chaos Warriors set, when it came out people wanted them to be more dynamic, but there's plenty of background for even khorne berserkers just walking forwards in solid blocks of infantry, not charging headlong or flailing wildly.

Well, we've got one or two months till the blood bowl releases. Rozmax's Chaos Dwarfs are awaiting painting (for the picture in the Shop) before HiveTrygon releases them at TrollsForge. Not a whole lot else we know of coming out for Chaos Dwarf models at this point.

Godbob and his jolly rogers:

Cool, I see Immortal ideas popping up

A bit big looking though

Filipicusius:

I still hate them…

I never liked that the dwarf models were half the size (or smaller) of human figures anyways.

wallacer:

Wonder if you can order the gun separately…

Well the word 'Dwarf' means "A very small person or thing", but thats your opinion

Godbob and his jolly rogers
Well yes, but dwarfs, from Warhammer to Tolkien to DnD , are about head and shoulders shorter than a human (putting their head height at about human shoulder height). The current models are more like well armored, bearded halflings, their heads come up to a human waist.

Godbob and his jolly rogers:

dedwrekka: I agree where your coming form, half the size is a bit extreme

Kera foehunter:

well i tend to not the smaller dwarfs but when i make mine sometime are a head tall than gw

but it fantasy!!! not modern warriors

Renufus:

I don’t see the size being a problem if you want to use them as Immortals or something. That’s the beautiful thing about having a god that blesses his minions with mutations, you can just write off their largeness as a gift given to them by Hashut to account for their elite status. Besides, it’s not like they’re that much larger than the GW dwarfs, in reality it would only be a difference of around half a foot. Once I have a few coins to rub together I totally plan on buying some of these for my army.

The only thing that concerns me is that they’re made of resin, which tends to break rather easily.

dedwrekka:

I’ve found that the type of resin that they use can determine it’s fragility a lot. However, all resins i’ve worked with don’t peel away like plastics when cut, they shatter. If you plan on doing conversions with a resin model, I suggest cutting it with a saw (wear a dust mask) or cutting it like plasticard sheets (score it and snap it).

dedwrekka:

I ordered a few of Scibor’s miniatures (Bases, the Boyar Chiefs, and Ataman), and I set up a photobucket album with pictures of the miniatures in the condition that they arrived in.

So far, not bad at all. I wouldn’t say they’re GW quality (They certainly have less flash and lines than GW), but definitely not the fall apart at the touch fragility you’d be led to believe (incredibly solid casts).

Much like the casts I’ve bought from Trollsforge, and lines are short and easier to remove than a standard mini (Reaper, Privateer, ect), and the little flash on the casts is tissue paper thin and easy to remove (see the shield pictures).

A little constructive criticism would be that the few blank spaces on the models aren’t hidden very well (Under the arms, between the shoulders and the head).

demi_morgana:

there will be more Moscals in July…:hat

Grimstonefire:

Not bad casts. The axe heads looks a little harder to clean up than the rest, but nothing serious at all.

I particularly like this guy

I am tempted whenever GW does do CD to get a few of the scibor bases. Has the detail filled in much on those? Hard to tell sometimes whether the dips are painted on to cover the casting flaws.
