Fuggit Khan:

Ah, I was wondering when you were going to start painting all the cool sculpts you have put together

Nice choice of colors, I always like to see armor and Hats done in the old school colors…looking forward to seeing them all done.

Dînadan:

Thanks Fuggit - been a bit lazy recently and in a bit of a painting rut, trying to push through it so hopefully by the end of my clubs’ campaign (already halfwayish over) I’ll have most of the painting finished (unless I get distracted by something else - we’re going to be doing a Mordheim campaign shortly after the WH one finishes and I’m considering going halflings, and planning on sculpting all the hobitsies myself lol ).

Admiral:

It all comes together nicely with that basecoat.

Would “steel wool” work instead of cotton? We’ve used it for bushes and trees, and lots of people use it for tank fires in 40k.

Thanks.

Will have to look into it :)

Admiral:

Of course, you might want to drench the steel wool a bit with some kind of glue just to make the individual wires melt together a bit.

Dînadan:

Thanks for the tips Admiral

Dînadan:

Bought this last night at my local club to use as a K’daii Destroyer:

The way the sprues stack amuses me - really gives the feel of some industrial industrial equipment  that’s been stacked; very fitting:

Yodrin:

That’s a lot of bits;), LF to seeing the progress on this…

Not pictured is the screwdriver and bag of teeny tiny screws that came with it ;)

Fuggit Khan:

:o

The stacking sprues is really quite a sight…I’ve never seen such a thing. It’s really amazing what computer designed sprues can accomplish these days compared to the old Airfix and Lindbergh kits that I grew up on.

Have fun with it!

:hat off

Admiral:

Promising first sight. You almost have got to create some catwalks and gangways amongst those sprues for Necromunda and 40k games. Once they’re emptied, of course. Perhaps it works if you cut out every second level to allow more height for the models? It’s too good an opportunity to pass up.

Dînadan:

@ Fuggit: it’s even more amazing considering not even GW do that with their sprues.

@ Admiral: I think removing every other would be too narrow except for Squats - removing every first and second and leaving every third in could work though.  Or I could come up with some rules for a Star Trek game and use them to make a Borg Cube (well, Cuboid) :stuck_out_tongue:

Have spent most of today assembling it - have assembled the basic leg structure and upper torso and currently working on the armour plates on the legs.

Destroyer so far:

torn:

I think all the stuff done by wargames factory has stackable sprues. ITS a pretty good idea. I have seen that model before and didn’t really know what it could be any use for, destroyer had never crossed my mind.

Dînadan:

One of the chimneys:

Considering turning it into a bigass mace for the destroyer.

Bloodbeard:

That is a pretty nice machine! He’s gonna be one big destroyer.

The chimney could be perfect for a deathshriek rocket launcher build.

Yodrin:

Cast a fire spell on it, and it will heal up nicely;)

Yodrin
Lol

Dry fit:

Currently debating over whether or not shortening the spine would make it look better.

Dînadan:

Testing another pose:

Thinking of having the mace raised in the left hand and having the right hand pointing/reaching.

The sculpting tools are marking out the size of the base - almost makes me wonder if I should have gone for the 28mm version lol. Will come up with other stuff to decorate the base; thinking maybe a skeleton of a dead monster.
