[Archive] Direction of Flight

Yodrin:

OnceBitten has some tactic vids out, and many are quite good. But I am unsure if he is correct in the one linked below.

Is it correct about the direction of flight 15:30 in the vid? He says it is a FAQ on it, I have not seen that FAQ. I thought the flight was straight backwards, not to “choose” direction

JMR:

Direction of flight is from center to center of both units. You can “choose” where units flee by placing them smartly when you charge in or do a combat reform. (within the limits of those two manoeuvres of course)

Yodrin:

Page 60 in the rulebook, it says pivot around the center and go in a straight line. Can’t find anything about center to center…

JMR:

It can be found, like you said, in the FAQ:

Q: When a unit flees ‘directly away’ form another, does this mean that you turn the unit about its centre, so that it will flee directly away from teh centre of the unit it is fleeing from?

A: Yes

FAQ

Grimbold Blackhammer:

OnceBitten360 is correct. I’ve been playing it that way for years.

Have not seen that FAQ, and therefore not played it like that, tnx for confirming the rule.

Warhammer is already remember and rulehammer, so it seems odd that they FAQ a simple rule of flight to be more than run straight backwards... ;)
