[Archive] % discount to independant stockists?

Grimstonefire:

Anyone know how much of a discount GW gives to independant stockists?

I see warhammer on ebay at 20% off free of postage and think… why would anyone want to buy from GW directly? Sure they may not stock exactly what you want if you want to do a big order, but as it’s postage free you can do it as and when instead.

Lord Archaon:

About 50%. Our warhammer store closed some time ago and now the owner is selling the stuff for 50% of price and still make profit.

Example of the prices

The price for a tactical squad (or anything £18.00) is £9.96 + 15% VAT for a total of £11.45

Check out my sig

WhyNotCrashDifferently?:

I’d still rather pay full price at my local independent retailer to support the store than get stuff for cheaper online or buy from a GW shop.

And I’m totally not bitter about my city of half a million people not having a GW store while every town/village/hamlet/burb around it seems to.

That would be nice if you have one in your area, the nearest store from here is 20 miles away and thats a GW :(
I organise events for our club, tourneys, special event days - apoc days - ect.
Online is the only real option when you factor in petrol costs, parking ect

20 miles isn't much. and it being a GW would be a bonus as far as I'm concerned.. Have you contemplated working with the GW with your club? WE do...

Well, from when I was GW staff, nothing but GW posters were allowed in the store.

However, our club used to help run the events and even though some staff might have been depressingly boring, the same was also true of some of the club… lol

What I’m suggesting, is that if you find them boring and just leave fliers, what’s their insentive to help you out? You don’t seem to frequent the store, or play there much, and so they don’t know you well enough to help promote your events too. Thing is, currently or last year anyways, GW wanted clubs to be active within the stores. How you do that would be up to you and the manager of course. but, nothing ventured, nothing gained eh?/ You won’t get discounts but you could get an opportunity to spread your club as you would have access to all the new players etc…

Hey, it’s your game too …

Kera foehunter:

well my store Knox off 15% to the steady buyers

or if you can find good deal on ebay then i go there

Swissdictator:

One of the local store simply offers 10% off GW stuff, 15% off on league night.

two_heads_talking:

There are quite a few stores selling GW stuff taht have differing discounts… One gives you 2% back on all purchases. this goes into a store credit that you can use to pruchase, drinks, snacks or other hobby supplies or pay for your monthly video game habit too.

another one let’s you pay a 25 dollar yearly fee to get 15% off Gw product and 20% off all other items in the store.

another one discounts based on how much you buy… 5% for 30-50 dollars, 10% for 50-150 and 15% for anything over that…

Kera foehunter:

wow 20 % now that a deal !!
