Grimstonefire:
Simple enough question.
I seem to be gifted in terms of throwing extremely lucky rolls. On several occasions I have thrown 3 double 6’s in a row (with a good shake).
I do fail leadership tests more than I’d like, but I seem to be very lucky with saving throws!
Must be the hobgoblin in me. :h
warh:
yes,
the dice god favour me,wen i roll dices i use to get 4,5 or 6s
but i’m no good on Ld tests
two_heads_talking:
my dice didn’t favor me once… I took them in the back yard. lined them all up and took the 6 offending dice and destroyed them with a sledgehammer. I never had a problem with my dice again.
I’m no more lucky than unlucky. I’d say I’m just an average dice roller.
GRNDL:
I invoke Chaos Magick sigils and blessings to influence the outcome of the dice. More often than not, quantum level entanglements save the day, or curse the enemy!!
Also, proper dice selection and maintenance help a lot.
snowblizz:
Not particularly. On a good day I’ll throw average. Best I can hope for.
Though I might be better at remembering the bad dice rolls.
BilboBaggins:
It depends what I’m rolling for.
Ld test I’m usually bad (except for Halflings, go figure)
On Helblaster Misfire Chart (and Cannon Misfire too) I’m usually good.
Rolling to hit and wound with Knights Bad
Horses Good
Look Snorri usually good but lately bad (I was averaging 9’s now averaging 6’s)
Everythng else average.
51la5:
Normally yes they do unless I am rolling for my bolt throwers then I have the uncanny ability to roll a one when wounding on a 2+ and that happens almost every time:(
Joshmohr:
Heh this dude i was fighting against had WEIGHTED dice… He was the scrawniest geek ever… It wasn’t hard for the judges to see that it was unusual for 8 Double D6 to be rolled… Not to mention they held a magnet over them.
BilboBaggins:
They should have made him roll them for all leadership tests.
Khan!:
Dice gods favour painted miniatures.
I used to play with a co-worker of mine at the GW who threw dice across the room whenever they rolled poorly. At the time I was like “eh, alright” but looking back it was a pretty stupid thing to do. Similarly, when this coworker got really good rolls he would (literally) run around the table shouting for joy. Perhaps he was simply an emotional personality?
BilboBaggins:
I played a guy who threw some of his mintures, and they were nicely painted.
I’d heard rumors of people putting dice in the microwave. Reportedly it alters the molecular structure and gets them rolling better. I never tried it.
There was a Dollar store near our GW that sold packs of dice (something like 54 dice for a buck) and when they rolled bad the players would just buy another set. You had to roll them after you bought them because a few were lopsided but losing 2-3 dice to misshapped out of 50 wasn’t a problem.
Baggronor:
They hate me
My last Grand tournament: an average of 2 miscasts per game. With single dice raising VCs.
The previous year’s GT: Anvil of Doom detonates itself in 4 out of 6 games on normal power.
This year: I start playing Dark Elves (nothing that can misfire). I am now preparing to fail all my stupidity tests.
BOGGO:
They have mocked me for years… only my skaven slaves have been spared the curse (they rally consistently: even though that rarely helps me out)…
BilboBaggins:
It helps to pray to the Gods of your army.
Me that would be:
Chaos Dwarf - Hashut
Empire - Myrmidia (Yes I’m an odd-ball there)
Dwarf - Grimnir
GRNDL:
I’ve found that the Gaming Gods favour the following things:
Dedication of conquered enemies to their benevolence. While playing video games, Warhammer, or other games, every enemy conquered, whether real or virtual, should be dedicated to the Gaming gods of your choosing. I.e: your patrons.
Channelling good will (“mojo”, luck, sigils, etc) into your dice or even your models. Who knows how it works - perhaps this action adds a bit of extra thermal or electromagnetic energy to the materials of the dice, or perhaps influences their dynamics via quantum entanglement - whichever way, the Gaming gods are invoked and your roll is open for their interaction.
Waving your hands, visualizing the transfer of your energy (mojo, luck, whatever) into the dice that you throw, your opponent’s throws or your allies. At the very least, it is a distraction to the enemy. You should not be disruptive, but allow for a unique flourish. Chant your lucky mantra, invoke/visualize your lucky number/pet/girlfriend/charms, while throwing the dice.
If the roll is successful after all this, thank the Gaming gods for their continued benevolence.
This may sound like a load of bunk, but more often than not, I’ve waved a hand and visualized a sigil of the numbers I want, or a lucky thought, and the dice have gone in my favour. I come from a scientific/engineering background, but recently immense coincidence has raised its hand on many occasions. I haven’t done any empirical testing on this, but have enjoyed the benefits. I believe that the Gaming gods would frown upon it and cast me down before my opponents.
Try it, and if it begins to work out, let me know about the results.
Kera foehunter:
There is no lucky dice god!!! if so why do they always let me down!!
all but the one i got in Vegas given to me by a homeless man that was to be his most
luckest thing in the world !! i gave him a bottle of rum for them !!

I am of a scientific leaning too, however I can often tell I've rolled a miscast before the dice land. And sometimes you just 'know' that 'To Wound' roll will be a killing blow... There has to be something to it :)
Pyro Stick:
I would say the dice gods do not favour me. Thats one of the reasons i dont use my TK’s anymore cause when it comes to taking resolution tests etc i always fail and the whole unit drops dead.
BilboBaggins:
I still like the buy new dice idea when the power goes out of them.
Kera foehunter:
i pray to the god Ralph or buick !!! i bow to his porcelain thrown !!
when they poison my rum!!
buick is a little hard to say at that point of time !!
try it next time
