Got a package today from a recent ebay auction win. Open it up and verify that is the fig I won. The weapon was bent, try to straighten, it pops off fairly easy. But I think no biggie can just pin that back on.

Take a second look at the rest of the model and notice there is a lot of flash and the overall quality of the model is pretty weak. Don’t remember that from when I bid on it. Open up ebay and sure enough the one in the pic has no flash and looks amazing. The description says "This item is sold as seen, please look at the picture…"

So I was clearly sent a duplicate model of poorer quality and not the one pictured and now have to go to the trouble of contesting this.

Anyone else have this type of problem with an item they got from an auction?

What did you say to the seller and what was their answer?

In the end what was the final outcome?

I would rip them to threads. A man who cheated you in full intend, will not give you a refund anyway. Will properly lie. Based on what you right "sold as seen" and you checking the picture - it was on purpose.

Give them a very bad review, see if there's a report to Ebay buttom somewhere.

But most inportantly share the ebay seller here and on other forums, to protect fellow users from recasts.

There's an old thread around here somewhere for that. "ebay findings".

Loidrial:

I think I saw time ago a page, dont remember if was facebook or else, filled with those scam users from ebay and an alfabethical order with all those sellers.

His idea was to cheat since the start, there is no way unfortunately that he will give you back what you spent, only thing you can do is to leave a bad review on his account and that’s it…

Pyro Stick:

If you paid with paypal i think you can use their resolution center to try get your money back by saying you have been sent a fake.

I've had this happen numerous times, and it's surprisingly easy to fix.
Ebay customer service is top notch and they are ALWAYS on the side of the buyer.
Just call them, everything is covered by 'Ebay buyer protection'...if the seller refuses to refund you, call Ebay and tell them. Ebay themselves will refund everything to you, and you still keep the cr@p that was sold to you. The seller is dinged by Ebay (not banned, unless it was a warning for selling illegal items such as ammunition or ivory), once dinged, the seller has to pay higher Ebay fee's. Basically fined for life.
The fact that the seller stated "sold as seen" automatically means you win the case, based on the Ebay policy of "item not as described/pictured".
Ebay will have it fixed for you within a few minutes.

Poison:

yes Fuggit is 100% correct on that. give the seller the chance to rectify the issue himself, if he refuses or something ebay will help you out

Well I got my money back, with paypal protection i wasn’t worried about that. Never heard back from the seller. For someone with no bad reviews I thought he would have at least tried to reach out.

Now back to searching for the handful of figs I’m missing from my collection.
