[Archive] empire on march 31

furrie:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uD7YVR5Cm98&feature=youtu.be ← this looks like a teaser trailer for empire.

Skink:

…Either that or a new campaign. I actually asked the manager of GW Milan regarding the forthcoming Fantasy army and he said “maybe Empire”. I’m a little bit disappointed as I was expecting Wood Elves or Bretonnia (I don’t collect them but they need some refreshment). And apparently Chaos Space Marines are next for 40k.

Vogon:

All the rumour mill says Empire next month but I find it odd that we’ve not seen any pictures yet.

The last couple releases GW has been tight lipped with any release information. Nothing will be leaked until White Dwarfs have been distributed. Expect to see some images later this week as I believe the White Dwarfs hit shelves on Saturday.

Bolg:

That teaser trailer is way crap, they should not have bothered…

Vogon:

Empire Demigryph Knights 43,00 EUR(ideal Premium/Hobby Account new release product) - Released 7th April

? This box contains enough multipart plastic pieces to assemble three Demigryph Knights- Elite Monstrous Cavalry that are a Special choice in the Empire Army Book.

Herby
So the main studio are using the Demigryph from Warhammer forge as Monstrous cavalry in Empire.

I wonder if this will bode well for Bull Centaurs being included in the main Chaos list when it comes out (possibly a dual kit with Dragon Ogres)

Cheers

Bolg
It is quite terrible, indeed.

Too bad it is Empire, I had hoped for a new Bretonnia book (don't care about new models though).

vulcanologist:

I always quite enjoy the empire releases. To me they’re one o the classic armies (alongside O&G) and I’m sure their new kits will be good if VC and OK were anything to go by! Role on the dwarfs though!

MLP:

Karl Franz on Deathclaw 43,00 EUR (ideal Premium/Hobby Account new release product) - Released 7th April
? This box contains a multipart plastic kit that makes one of THREE different models; Karl Franz on Deathclaw, Empire General on Griffon or Amber Wizard Lord on Griffon.

Herby
I like that the model can be a special char, general or wizard. Although things like this will probably make armies look a lot less individual.

The Empire army these days has really changed from the Infantry/Cavalry/Cannon army it used to be into this strange magic machine(Luminark/Hurricanium)/monstrous cavalry army nowadays. I don't think I like it.

The Vampire counts armies now are barely recognisable to their army 10 years ago.

Saying that the models themselves are fantastic and i'm sure the new Empire ones will be too. GW have to make new models to make money so the fluff has to follow.

Grimbold Blackhammer:

Any word on what 8 magic items they are getting?

Hashut’s Blessing:

A few things - Wood Elves and Brettonians won’t be done this early on out of the Fantasy armies because they’ve always been low-sellers: Games Workshop is a business and needs to make money to be able to get round to redoing those armies. Of course Empire were going to be an early army - they have been the poster boy (equivalent to Space Marines) of Warhammer until about half way through 7th edition and have always been a very popular army.

Generally speaking, you can guess which army will come next by looking at the number of Army Books/Codexes left. At one of my locals, they hadn’t received any new Empire Army Books since around Christmas, lol.

Not all armies have 8 magic items - Vampire Counts have 9

Vogon: I doubt it - they have nothing to do with Chaos and Dragon Ogres are very different to bull centaurs… Nice wishful thinking though

I’m surprised that there is no advance warning beyond the teaser trailer of the advance orders - I don’t recall (bad memory  ) it happening like that previously.

Thommy H:

Not all armies have 8 magic items - Vampire Counts have 9
And Ogres have ten. It's whatever fits on the double-page spread, really.

*Kera rolls her eyes *

it just the Empire, Next army please
