[Archive] Favourite CD/LoA-affiliated Models

Nicodemus:

After going through my collection a few times recently and re-discovering some miniatures I forgot I had I started thinking about why I have some of them in the first place.

I started out justifying my collection because we played so much Warhammer Quest and the Monster Tables had most of the Warhammer Fantasy range represented from the early-to-mid 90s (except Empire and Bretonnians). Anyway, I have a lot more miniatures than is accounted for in those tables and in most cases I have the models because I just liked them and wanted to have them - so purely an aesthetic thing.  In some cases it’s a pose, in other cases it’s something else I can’t quite put my finger on.

This got me thinking about what I have in my collection that stands out and what I’m still trying to acquire and thought it would make a good thread here.

Now none of these are mine, and I’m not trying to find Golden Daemon-worthy paint jobs, these are just the models I like, for what ever reason.  Without further ado, here’s a cross section of some of my favourite miniatures:

Chaos Dwarfs

MM90/1 (Citadel)

Chaos Dwarf Renegades - Master of Madness (Citadel)

Warhammer 4th Edition Chaos Dwarf Blunderbuss model #7 (GW)

Hobgoblins

Manic Hobgoblin Hero from the 1985 Monsters Starter set (Citadel)

DL2 Hobgoblin Shaman (Citadel, Aly Morrison)

Beasts

Doombull (updated version, GW, now Finecast instead of metal, sadly)

So c’mon, let’s see which ones you all are drawn to!  The painting doesn’t have to be good.

Threadbare:

Favorite CD models in my collection. Well obviously the MM Mage, but others would include

MM90 5c

Jezreel Ironhand

And the bazooka for a little fire power

Also, because they took a long time to collect, all the duergar variants (minus the crossbow guys)

Admiral:

The Hellcannon! Ultimate Chaos Dwarf model in my mind.
