Hey, I work on my list for a competitive game against a tournament orc list; I would be glad to have some feedback to tune the list. Some ideas for deployment are also welcome.
I don’t have much to add on this list. I think it’s a nice Chaos Dwarf list. Let’s you face most things, And it lets you play in all game phases. This I like.
I would put the Iron Curse Icon on the BSB, simply because there’s always the chance your prophet explodes.
The Gleaming Pennant is almost a most on your BCs and tauruk. They’ll end up outside the BSB bubble and a LD reroll is good to have.
A spear on the Khan will greatly enhance his chance to take out a warmachine crew in 1 turn.
A luckstone i 5 points and almost an extra wound, always fit that in somewhere.
You don’t have any extra points, I wouldn’t really want to drop anythiing in your list. So to free points I would take out the Wolf Raiders. The Destroyer, khan, tauruk and BCs should be enough speed.
Drop the great weapon on the bsb and give him a shield for the 2+ followed by the 4+ ward save. You want this guy to stay alive!
If you find the points you should really take great weapons on the centaurs.

In this case I agree with this choice. The GW infernal guard will do enough damage. I usually only field hw/s IG, and for that unit I always give the castellan a GW. To ensure that he brings home some kills for combat resolution. In this case however it's better to raise his chance of survival further.
Modified the list, the luckstone didn`t fit in, hw/s for bsb, spear for khan and gw/ gleaming pennant for bull centaurs, therefore deleted 2 ig (hope 24 will do) and some hobgoblin command models. banner of swiftness for flame banner.
Sorcerer-Prophet, lvl 4, general, earthing rod, enchanted shield, preservation, ironcurse icon + Lore of Hashut
Infernal Castellan, battle standard bearer, hw/shield, mask of the furnace
Hobgoblin Khan/spear/wolf
Bull Centaur Taur’ruk + Black Shard Armour, great weapon + dawnstone, dragon helm
Daemonsmith Sorcerer + dispel scroll, charmed shield + fire
24 Chaos Dwarf Infernal Guard, great weapon, smc, banner of swiftness
20 Hobgoblin Cutthroates, bows, musician
20 Hobgoblin Cutthroates, add. hand weapon, musician
3 Bull Centaur Renders, great weapons, standard, gleaming p.
Very good lit man. Still think you should put the iron curse icon on the BSB, he has a higher chance of survival. He has both a better save, no miscast chance and people will try to snipe your general/lvl 4 mage.
Thank you. I had done this and put in the luckstone, too, but my heroes limit is 600 and I am at 597
I will play against Orcs and do not expect so much sniping. I hope the earthing rod will help my prophet not to explode
It is to be expected that the orcs will play a hard list also, but I hope to wrestle them down. It`s my first game with the army so wish me luck :hat off
Yesterday I played my very first battle with chaos dwarves and it went pretty well. The battle was played in ETC rules with the “old” restrictions (25%).
I played the above army, the orcs had 2 catapults, two strong troll blocks (8 + 12), 1 savage orc mob (36) , 1 night goblin unit (40), 2 chain squigs, and 5 wolf riders. The characters (Lvl 4, lvl 2 orc shamans, black orc boss, savage orc bsb) deployed in the savage orcs (the bsb had razor banner, the shaman the shrinked head and the obsidian with MR 3, so a save 2+ against magic). A goblin hero on wolf was [/i]with the large troll block and the night goblin shaman with his fellas. Long story short: Orcs had first turn and a strong magic phase (11), scroll needed to prevent bigger damage. Hobgob hero and wolf riders exchanged for 1 chain squig each. The large troll block was put to ashes by the destroyer after a ash storm with double6 came through (10 wounds on the block, fled and hunted down). The earthing rod reroll helped here a lot (a 8 for a 6). After that the destroyer got stuck in the goblin hero (dragon helm) and the night gobbos. After finishing the wolf riders the bull centaurs did well with the small trolls (with some luck) and won the combat. The trolls fled (out of generals reach) and were hunted down. After that the Tau`ruk destroyed the 2 catapults. My bows, magma and rocket hammered constantly at the savage orcs, which finally came to battle with my infernal guard in turn4. The prophet was moved out of the unit before. The dwarves stood three combat phases but then it was destroyed. The orcs fetched the magma after that finally.
Remaining Orcs: 9 Savage orcs + 4 characters (half victory points of the unit + characters about 800 pts). 1776:1100 victory, I was quite satisfied for the first game.
Thank you all for your very good advice. I also had a look at the Demonsmith Handbook which also helped me a lot, especially at the BC.
I could have put in more bows instead of the gits, they would have been better in this battle. HW/shield would also have been better than great weapons in the guard because I would have had more attacks and a better save (strike at the same time with the orcs, not after).
