The biggest issue would be actually finding enough of these models to field a unit, let alone an army. The were not that common when the were in production, and I haven’t seen them on vultureBay.

torn:
i have a feeling likechaos dwarfs it is probably a lot easier and cheaper to just convert the whole army. I suppose which army you wan to use to represent them depends on how they used to be. I cant really remember much about them in fantasy but i do remember in hero quest they werent as tough as chaos warriors and certainly not as tough as ogres.
gIL^:
man fimirs, havnt heard from them in a while, i would love to make an army of them but its like 10 times more ambicious than even chaos dwarfs,
Father Grumpmas:
Just to complete the links for Fimir figures available
The Plastic Heroquest Fimir
Limited edition lead Fimir
This guy is the same scale as the plastic fimir i.e on a 25mm base. The scale of the other Fimir i.e. on 40mm bases, was apparently a mistake between modelling amd casting. This may be what killed them off as the larger models were expensive.
I think Fimir still have a chance of a re-appearance. GW hasn’t had any original ideas in WFB for years so they will recycle anything. Even Zoats were mentioned in the new Tyranid book.
Kera foehunter:
Sweeet they look cool Thanks Father Grumpmas
Father Grumpmas:
One still sees service in my BoC army as a wargor/chaos warrior BSB
Kera foehunter:
Sweet keep them comming !!! that is sooooooooooo cool.I love the banner
Father Grumpmas:
I did convert three of the Heroquest guys into a command group but I recently stripped the paint off them as the paint job was a particularly vile green - so the BSB is the only painted fimir I have.
Kera foehunter:
I think you did a hella of good job.And a sweet base too
AGPO:
My plan at the moment is to work on my converting and greenstuffing skills before attempting Fimir. When I do it will most probablly be as chaos or dogs of war, maybe lizards
BLOOD AXE:
I havent seen any Fimir since HeroQuest. ChaosOrc.com has the plastic HQ ones pretty cheap.
I saw Zoats in an old WHFB battle report, they were fighting on the side of Wood Elves. They were wierd looking Fimir-type Centaurs things.
Willmark:
ZOATS! Those guys kicked mucho A@@! I’m lucky enough to actually have one of those guys in my collection. I’m sure Wallacer has 27.
Robin Low:
I found this thread when I was googling for Fimir.
I thought some of you might like to know that a very long article describing the Fimir in great detail was published a couple of years ago in the indpendent and totally unofficial Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay fanzine Warpstone. Some samples are available as pdfs at the Warpstone site, including a set of rules for the Fimir in WFB6 (though this was written before the article was published, so there are differences in teh way the Fimir are depicted):
Warpstone magazine
The fanzine itself is a proper bound magazine, so isn’t available for download I’m afraid, although it is still in print. I should also say that it’s a completely not-for-profit publication - I mention that in case I’m violating any forum posting rules.
Regards
Robin
torn:
hola robin welcome to this site - glad you found us!
much thanks for the information, it should give us all something more to ponder about the fimir!
Robin Low:
Thanks for the hello!
I’m not sure how much use the Fimir article would be for folks here, since it’s purely written for roleplaying purposes, but it may be of some interest.
On a topic slightly closer to home, I wrote a short scenario involving Harpies for a recent issue of Warpstone. I included a short section on Harpies, finishing with this final paragraph:
"At the Mountains of Mourn, Harpies associate and even cooperate with Chaos Dwarfs, Black Orcs and Hobgoblins, most commonly acting as spies, guards and aerial watchmen. Chaos Dwarfs in particular make full use of Harpies for observing the activities of their uncorrupted brethren along the World’s Edge Mountains, and the birdwomen make excellent tools for capturing slaves to keep their black industries running."
If they aren’t included already, maybe Harpies could be added to the Chaos Dwarfs’ allies list.
Regards
Robin
Kera foehunter:
humm harpies it sounds cool. well robin to the site!!
Father Grumpmas:
I have to add Zoats to this thread as they have been mentioned a couple of times in the same " what happened to them " breath as the Fimir.
WFB seems to have deserted them completely but the Space Zoats were mentioned in the Tyranid book.
I have plans to include a unit of Zoats to my ‘probably never to be started’ Wood Elf army (using the Treekin rules) as they were traditionally allies of the wood elfs.
The only WFB Zoats that are available are as follows (I think):
The Zoat Mage (mace and orb) and the limited edition smaller Zoat with Staff
Zoat with axe and the Zoat mage again
The urber-rare 'baby zoat’
The Space Zoats

wallacer:
You’re showing your age there, buddy
(I know because I recognise those figures too)
torn:
i remember the space zoats, but i can thankfully say the fantasy zoats are from before my time. hopefully im still young lol.
Father Grumpmas:
Fimir are cool but Zoats are the Bomb!
(how street am I?) :sick
