You could put your sorcerer-prophet on a lammasu, which can have lore of shadow. Enfeebling foe reduces the S by D3, so chaos warriors and swordmasters could be down to S2, at which point they can’t wound the fireborn. But you have to roll that spell, and be in range, and not had your lammasu shot out from under you by cannons or bolt throwers. It’s a bit risky!
The Odor:
The armies in question dont have cannons do they?

Chaos have a hellcannon and high elves have bolt throwers. For 200 points both could potentially kill a lammasu in one round of shooting.
Border Reiver:
I’ve tried both - and used the BC in a tournament (unit of 6 with GW and full command), and using the Kadaii in a second list with a unit of 6 and a unit of 4 and my experience with both units has been positive.
I use the BC s more because I have the models already and only needed to rebase them for the tournament. Still the fiery Kadai fit the intimidating fiery look I have going.
