[Archive] Flames Question

Dr.Marmalade:

Hi guys.

Just a quick question regarding the flames spell. It states a model under the hole must take a toughness test at minus 2 or be removed.

Is it -2 to its toughness, or -2 to the roll? BIG DIFFERENCE!!!

Please clarify for me.

Cheers

The target takes the test at -2 meaning he takes it at -2 to it's Toughness. If he's T5, normally only a roll of 6 fails, however, due to the -2, he tests as though he's T3, meaning a roll of 4+ fails. If it was -2 to the die roll, you'd be giving a bonus to the target which would make that spell the worst spell in the history of spells.
