Believe it or not I mean for this to be super competitive… let me know what you guys think. TEAR IT TO SHREDS I CAN TAKE IT!
This list is a mixture of my personal tastes and few of the ideas I’ve got from this forum, mostly the list that Johnny-Crass is taking to SAWS GT. He seems to have a lot of success with his CDs. Woo!
Sorceror-Prophet - 400
- Level 4
- Tally of 4+
- Charmed Shield
- Magic Carpet (totally converting Jasmine slave to ride along)
- Lore of Death
Daemonsmith - 120
- Lore of Death
- Dispel Scroll
Daemonsmith - **
- Lore of Death
30 Hobos - 162
- Flag
- Muse
- Bows
30 Hobos - 162
- Flag
- Muse
- Bows
30 Hobos - 162
- Flag
- Muse
- Bows
26 Hobos - 142
- Flag
- Muse
- Bows
6 Fireborn - ***
(this is totally interchangeable, I have no clue what I should put here.)
Deathshrieker - ***
Magma Cannon - ***
Magma Cannon - ***
Hellcannon - ***
Destroyer - ***
Total = 2498
So Aladdin is going to fly around and purple sun annoying deathstars. Machines will do what they do best. Hobos will help shrieker pick off fast cav and lightly armored troops. Anyone surviving the massive amount of shots will be cleaned up by absurd amount of hobos, hellcannon, destroyer, and fireborn (or maybe not fireborn, you decide!)
Thanks for all the great help guys… Seriously im bored and work sucks.

I like the list. I love small units of gobbos, they are very good at stopping things get to our warmachines. I do prefer however to have my prophet and bsb within 12" of them. Great thing about the carpet is he can just stand next to a warmachine for a few turns and then fly out to unload later in the game. I find he is too vulnerable to just throw him out there early on.

Hi and thanks for the reply!
Oh absolutely! Aladdin (actually known as Dagran Hellforge) will be hanging out in the back to help out the machines and then run out when most of the chaff is dead and I don't have to worry about being shot to death. No -1 to shooting at single characters on foot now right? Wish they would have kept that in...
Thanks!

Fuggit Khan:
I also like this list…but I would tweak it a bit:
1) I would lose one of the Daemonsmith’s and add a Khan on wolf, this sort of list needs a re-director (just my opinion).
2) Make the Deathshrieker hellbound.
3) Make contingency plans for Hobbo animosity…with that many Hobbo units, they really should be spread out.
It’s nice to see that I’m not the only guy who like the flying carpet :hat off

Absolutely agree! I think alot of CD players are starting to realize that flying purple sun is a game winner on its own and LD10 spirit leech is bent filth. Love it!
I agree that I absolutely need khans but 1-2 rerolls on that many war machines? Im scared to risk it. I'll see how my first game goes.
Was thinking of keeping the war machines within 6" of hobos. Guess that would clear the animosity issue. Or should I be redirecting with them?
Thanks for the reply!

Love the idea, one of the lists I’m wanting to try out is a bit similar. I’ll also take a death-prophet on flying carpet later on when I start to reach those points levels… How about dropping one Daemonsmith for a BSB with a slave banner?
GDD:
You have three wizards with death snipes! Put metal, or hashut on one of them,
and buff your million hobgoblins with glittering robes, enchanted blades, and hatred!
I would rather have BC’s with greatweapons than fireborn,
if you plan on facing armies with high armor saves.
I would also consider shields on a few units, and maybe additional hand weapons on one of them.
If you are going to use the gimmick, you might as well go all out right?
Also you really need to post a battlereport with this :cheers
I’ve wanted to try hobgoblin spam myself.
Abecedar:
Interesting. I’ll have to try it out. (I need all the help I can get most days)

Hobgoblins have always been given a bad rep. due to that of the lesser green skins that is regular goblins. I mean really when was the last time you saw a O&G army that goblins weren’t represented completely by night goblins. However I love our little green skins they may cost more but the +1 WS pays for itself. While the difference between WS2 and 3 isn’t that much you tell me that after your hitting skeletons, goblins(nightgoblin), or skaven slaves on 3’s instead on 4’s. O&G,Vamps, and Skaven are popular in my area heck the owner of the store as an O&G, vamp, and an empire army so lots of WS3 or less in a lot of cases. Also that +1WS comes in handy against higher WS armies IE. Warriors of Chaos, hitting them on 4’s instead of 5’s because WS2 vs WS5. To make a long story short(to late) while our Chaos dwarfs are big and strong they are few in number while our hobgoblins are average and plentiful, don’t fear using them more they can work wonders. :cheers

Hmm would the sorcerer on carpet get the look out sir while still close to the warmachines?
