[Archive] Forge world miscast query

How minimal is a miscast classed as because today I have received a deathshreiker and the mask on the lever dwarf has around 5 extra holes in it than the single eye peice than it should have and this ruins the mask. Would I be liable to receiving a replacement dwarf or is it to minr for them to send out the peice, this is the second time I have used forge world so I have no real experience with this kind of stuff and I would appreciate a helpful response.

I had a similar issue on the mask on one of the crew of my Iron Daemon, they swapped it with no quibble at all (though I was there in person at the time). It seems like those masks are a particular problem.

I would phone them. I sent them two emails then had to phone them a week later to get the wheels for my Iron Daemon. Once I phoned they were great.

They should send you a replacement (or even a new kit!)

I’ve had no problems getting replacements and they’re usually quite polite. In the future, it’s easier to email either

Yes, and likely the lot # that's printed on the bags as well. Sometimes if there's a problem with a batch of them they like to know about it... but this can also be useful for them to know whether you have a real kit or not.

My iron daemon wheels were missing to, and since then my deathshreiker rocket was missing one wheel (just looking like it fell off the sprue piece and wasn't in the bag), the main magma chamber for the magma cannon was miscast, and my order for 2 IG with hand weapons and 2 IG with Fireglaives somehow turned in to 1 and 3 instead. So far everything was fixed quite quickly. I too e-mailed but got a pretty quick response.

I can't believe that you have had this many problems with a product that costs SO much...its really shameful on FW's part that their quality control is so poor....:~

Yes, that's true. Oh, and my Hellsmith was miscast as well. There was a huge chunk of silicone embedded in his face. Since it was an eBay buy and I don't have the batch number anymore there's not much I could have done.

It also speaks volumes to the experiences I've had with each of my FW orders that I was dreading going through all of the Dreadquake Mortar pieces for fear that something else would be miscast or missing... and when it turned out that everything was fine I was so relieved that I e-mailed them and said thanks. x.x

I also called them before I sent the email and they said they would pretty much all the info in the bag and a photo of the miscast, so at the moment I’ve built the deathshreiker but just left the miscast crew off so I can just stick him on when the replacement comes and have just began painting the actual missile and the crewman with the telescope. Out of curiosity, how long does it usually take to receive a replacement?

I always got my replacement with UPS expedited or UPS express, so within a week to AU. I’d imagine it’d be much faster for the UK :slight_smile:

Mind you, I seem to get better service over here (I don’t know if this is because I’m an international customer or because I place large orders)

I think the best thing to do is clearly state that you’re not happy with the mistake, and list the missing part(s) and include the order and batch numbers.

Did it the same way as necro but I just asked them "this happened and what do we do about it" and am now waiting for the replacement fireglaive bits. I had the same prompt replies and no problems service so far.
But I didn't realize one of the iron-daemon crew had a mask and it could have been miscast but I've cleaned it off now. It's a bit late to change so I'll either fix it or leave it.

My ID pilot's mask was miscast as well... still is. I just couldn't be bothered to ask them about that piece :P
