[Archive] Formula P3 Paints

Dino:

Been looking at buy Formula P3 paints to replace most of my Citadel paints. Was wondering what some of you guys who have used them thought about them?

nitroglysarine:

Have you got a link to a shop? I’ve not heard of them before.

clam:

I adore them - and if a complete set was available - I would buy the asap. Got like 15 colours now (Browns/bons, Blues, reds and greens) and always choose them over VMC and GWs. They have a great coverage and float very well. And the colour system is is different from GWs - but really like their tones.

@Nitro

Its Privateer Prees - you know … ? those that do Warmachine/Hordes. Maelstrom Games should have them.

Blue in VT:

I bought my first couple of bottles yesterday so I’m excited to try them. It seems that they have a fairly small range of colors but all the basics are covered.

I also got their flesh wash to help me get my WWII painting done faster!

Cheers,

Blue

Ta, I'll check them out!

Naagruz:

P3 are a great range of paints. They have the popular flip-top pots that Citadel used to use & a good variety of highly pigmented colors.

They are typically thicker than other acrylics and need to be thinned before applying, but this is a bonus for coverage etc.

Thorne:

Coat d Arms I adore, I have been slowly repacing my citadel paints with Coat d arms paints (who used to make Gamesworkshops) All the old games workshop colours exactly matching GW’s tones but cheaper and less watery. The P3 paints I love they are better than the typical gamesworkshop paints not to mention as had been stated before much thicker than other firms paint.

nitroglysarine:

do they do tin bitz?

clam:

Coat d Arms are excellent paint but so darn hard getting.

The do most GW - and think Metal Magic comes close to Tin Bitz

nitroglysarine:

Ta, that is the only paint I still have to buy from GW.

Now I don’t :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
