[Archive] French GD : CD list (draft?)

cornixt:

I’m guessing that it starts without an ogre - it isn’t mentioned anywhere until the options, where I think “additional” is a mistake.

Are we sure that BCs will be on 40mm bases yet? Unusual for a model with only 2 wounds.

KingFisher:

Oh how I wish I had seen those rules before they were taken down >Whistles<

wuffingas-saxon
most of the rules are listed in the op, so you arnt missing much.

OP how many points of magical items can the Hobgoblin hero take?
I thought I saw 25, which would mean no crown of command for stubborn hobgoblins.

Also you did not see the pages for the generic great taurus or normal lords?
I would think those come in the 2nd book if there is one.

wuffingas-saxon:

Yeah, I realise that but I am just about to start a campaign and I think I could have squeezed in with the new rules based on copies of pages but not internet rumour pages!

Thommy H:

The rules really weren’t usable. There were some quite blatant typos.

Who said that?:) No minis shown...
The rules really weren't usable.
With the rules, the list is playable. Without them, it's just a list...:)

Thommy H:

No, I mean they were riddled with typos and mistakes. I think Wolf Riders were 7 points or something. It’s seriously just a draft at this point - the name and basic rules for Infernal Guard were different, for example.

I agree. Some cost (wolf raiders is strange, such as range of spell, etc...), and in particular these changes (infernal guard and iron daemon) are surprising.
However, it was shown as the list in the new book...
But, as said, the list should get corrections. Even if "this" list makes a good base to play CD untill the released of the book.

Are you sure for crew and warmachine wounds?

Thommy H:

However, it was shown as the list in the new book...
Yeah - so was the phrase "see page @@@". I'm not trying to discourage anyone, but this was just a sneak peak. I expect some things will change a bit, and we still don't know most of the special rules. Playtesting is premature.
Are you sure for crew and warmachine wounds?
Sure about what? That the number of Wounds is equal to the number of crew? Yes. It's right there in the rules.

cornixt:

The first ogre slave isn't optionnal. The second is.

zhatan87
It says "Unit Size: One Dreadquake Mortar and three Chaos Dwarf crew". No mention of the Ogre. Sounds optional in the fluff too.

So many discrepencies, it's very hard to know what the final result will be. I think this list is an older draft from at least a month ago.
Are we sure that BCs will be on 40mm bases yet?
Who said that?:) No minis shown...
It's been a rumour since September. I'm betting they will stay on cavalry bases rather than balloon to Dragon Ogre size.

Grimstonefire:

Last I heard they were on cavalry bases.

zhatan87:

You are right! Big mistake I have done. I was convinced they get one, but after reading again, only one ogre slave optionnal. I should have read it again before posting...
They precise that ogre slave adds 3 extra wounds.

zhatan87
So the base is 3 wounds with an option 3 more wounds for the Ogre?

Thommy H:

That would make sense.

Fingers crossed! I do hope so, I dont want to rebase all 20 of them!

Da Crusha:

additional hand weapon for bc - 5 point per model :)

Barth
that must of been on the copied pages that were banned...

Bolg

Other minors informations :
The list was on printed sheets.
The front page was called "Throne of chaos"
The second page showed the credits.
Then, the book can be divided in four parts.
The first one was the fluff. About 5 pages, including the black orc insert.
The second part treated of fluff and rules.
The third was about 2-3 pages of generic rules : resolute, relentless, etc…
Finally, the list with the magic item and the lore of hashut.

In term of artworks : all the artworks were very dark, with black and orange (blazing)/red colours.
Two showing daemonsmith. One of the hellsmith has a bionic eye and carries a staff or weapon. It looks like the new character mini not available now but seen during GD events.
Another artwork showed a daemonsmith making a blade (or something, difficult to see) on an anvil (the same anvil as those showed on old CD transfers, same symbol)
BC and Kdaai artworks already known.
Great taurus artwork : the taurus is obscured by a smokescreen, and flames come out of its nose. Horns look like the symbol that FW use for CD on their website.
Hobgoblins : two artworks, one for warriors and one for wolf raiders. I remember that the hobgoblin wolf raider has a mat of hairs, such as one of the head of goblins wolfriders.
Dreadquake mortar artwork : my favourite. Burning coal and shells, with the ogre slave carring one shell. This artwork spread on two pages.
I think that the magma cannon also had its own artwork, such as infernal guard and iron daemon, but I can’t remember well.

Drooling...... aaaahhaahahawwww :D

Thommy H:

Five whole pages of fluff? Wow - I’m astonished they get any sculpting done down at that place! It must have taken them over an hour to put all that together.

Let’s hope there’s a bit more in the final product, eh?

Method:

Mwahahaa

Very funny thommy

I will give you this, while I don’t have the same vision you have in regards of amy lists, you can write some bada$$ stories/fluff.

I hope WF does have good background material.
