Agreed,
When one figure costs as much as five pairs of shoes (at a discount store), or five cases of beer, or one keg, it’s time to not buy that figure.
Now if someone was going to trade or give one away…

I agree on the fact that is horribly expensive, still it does not make sens to me to compare this mini to shoes, beers, etc…
We can’t value those objects the same way as they have different uses. Some people are foe instance fine with GW prices, I’m not. Still this is part of your hobby, people collecting shoes might value differently than you a pair of shoes.
Back on the topic, it is said that there are 2-3 weeks left for the dwarf wave, we can expect something cool, I hope… ^^

I have a pain in my eyes when I look at them…
how ironic that the best “lizard beast” model (imho) from years is under the ass of the race which probably has lesser rights to ride a lizard thing

Haha, fair point gIL^.
Still, the answer to the question “is it worth it?” depends on who answers it. The current prices are silly in my eyes and have drained up my GW purchases in recent years (to think I planned to buy a shipload of Dwarfs and Goblins for the Hobbit releases to complement the Lotr forces, until I saw the new releases, or more specifically their price tags…). I guess they don’t want my money. Still, some people think the model is worth the price, or they wouldn’t buy it.
As for hints on a unification of CDs and vanilla Dwarfs in AoS, it could be quite a neat idea. Dwarf Slayers redeem themselves in life and probably end up as ordinary Duardin or what they’re called in AoS, but devout followers of Hashut don’t end up in whatever afterworld their cult imagined, not with whatever reqards and punishments they fantasied about, but as Fyreslayers having to redeem themselves in the afterlife since they spent their entire life shaming themselves without even going Slayer. Not such a sweet deal siding with the bull god.
Not that I prefer it that way, but one can certainly see the irony of it all, and even appreciate it a lot if one tends to view AoS as an interesting vision of Tzeentch or whatever.

Imo the Lizard looks promising!
The beast might be fit well to the rest of my army!
Concerning the Fyreslayers … not my cup of tea … that’s the best I can tell about them! :~

The heads look great. If they just had different bodies…
The lizards would be great k’dai destroyers.
Grimstonefire:
Taking a close look, the bodies I don’t think are too bad, but they would be better wearing rags or trousers rather than some weird greek skirt.
The weapons and other details look quite good.
But the heads… The beards don’t flow naturally (like all beards don’t in plastic), but I just don’t like slayers in Mohawk helmets and the faces are amongst the worse I’ve ever seen on any dwarf models.
With a head swap or resculpt they would begin to look half decent, but imo they still lack a tiny bit of the character of the old metal slayers.
The price is just obscene.
Dînadan:
I think I’d actually consider getting the Runesmith to convert into a CD hero if it weren’t for the price. It’s far too much as is, let alone factoring in ID have to give him shoes and armour, so I’ll pass.
Looking at modern prices is a good way to make you feel old; I recall picking up blisters of metal heroes for LotR for something like seven quid. Now there’s blisters of plastic heroes for more than double that. grumblemumblegrumble

It’s a shame they turned to be like this
the artworks in the white dwarf are awesome

Think the Runesmiter would make a great Daemonsmith/Sorcerer-Prophet if given armour. Not a fan of the other two though, especially the Runefather’s halberd which looks unwieldy on the infantry version (not much better on the mounted version, but at least that can be hand waved away as being so he can reach enemies on the ground from atop the lizard).
