Borador:
As the title states, what do you think will be the top 3 (so not your top 3).
And I am not meaning what entry number/forum member will end in that spot, but more like what style of figure will.
Due to all the big-hat-o-files on here, I think number one will be a big hat miniature.
For second place I am guessing something more vintage looking, mayhaps even a bit marauder-esque.
Third place is hard to predict IMO, I am guessing on something more modern, FW or mantic or the like mayhaps, but I think this will definately be a non-GW miniature.
So, what do you guys think?
And since we are busy anyhow now, of how many miniatures are you sure you know the painter? (again not entry numbers, just an amount!)
I think I know 7 or 8 really sure (9 if I include my own ;P)
Might be able to determine a few more if i take a closer look!
nitroglysarine:
well I defiantly know one of them, and I think you might to
Borador:
Haha yeah I included that one in my count
nitroglysarine:
So many entries to guess some of them!
Borador:
Aye, true.
This message was automatically appended because it was too short.
Bolg:
I dont think the 1st one will be a big hat just because of all the big-hat-o-files here. I’m still working om my top 3 and there are some outstanding entries, that just happen to have a big hat…
1 will be a non GW sculpt
2 will be a heavily converted model
3 will be a classic.
cornixt:
I think the top entry is likely to be a self-sculpt or at least very heavily converted. There are some very strong contenders for that. The old marauders or similar style will probably feature high too.
G.2:
well I defiantly know one of them, and I think you might to ;-)
nitroglysarine
I think I know the one that you are talking about. The painter has a very unique (different to everyone elses) style.
On that note, I tried to guess who the other painters/sculptors were, and I think, I can guess about 5 recognisable styles. The others are a bit of mystery.
Da Crusha:
well, when I turn in my vote Im keeping in mind the contest rules. its supposed to be a basic rank and file troop. so I won’t be voting for anything I would even consider a champion.

Da Crusha
I had exactly the same thought, and I am glad that you mentioned it.
I just want to publish a quote from the original submission rules...
Basing
20mm - A small amount of scenic basing is allowed, but bare in mind the model should represent a run-of-the-mill trooper of whatever unit type he (or she?) happens to be.
Xander
...I personally feel that a couple of the entries didn't really adhere to this rule. And I think, I will follow Da Crusha's lead, and only vote for the models which did follow the competition rules.
Xander:
Definitely vote for the entries that you think are the best representation of a Chaos Dwarf infantryman.
I can’t comment on who I think might win, as I am the one tallying the votes up.
Borador:
@Xander: haha
@Da Crusha & G.2: Yeah i also had that in mind while voting, it’s good to bring it up again though!
@Bolg & cornixt: I find both your predictions for a top 3 very plausible actually, self sculpt minis/heavy conversions always seem to score high also, I forgot that :o
G.2:

Xander
Yeah, but it is sure fun to speculate. :cheers
Borador:
I am betting I can trace back 13/28 right now, including my own that is
maybe 14/28 but i am not to sure on that last one yet.
Bassman:
I think this is a great competition because every style can win!
About the debate champion/character/infantry man I would like to tell you my point as I am directly involved.
My entry is one of the entries that can be blamed to be a champion not a “normal” rank and file. I clearly understand people not voting mine because of this reason. I did the same in other GH when I felt some entries did not comply with the spirit of the rules. It’s pretty fair to do so.
This time I had no time to sculpt a new miniature for the purpouse of entering the Golden Hat (and I did not have proper rank and files to paint…). So I decided to paint a mini I was in dire need to paint.
I tried to keep him as simple as possible not overloading the miniature with flamboyant freehands and followed a theme that can be plausible for an entire unit. I’m not going to tell you the theme as it will make him easily recognizable
Well my greatest desire was contribute to another great Golden Hat.
:hat off

Da Crusha
I had to be careful with my one, my original I made look cool, but when I looked at him, he looked like the champion of the unit, so the cat very usefully attacked the model and broke his weapon off.
So kitty decreed that my model wasn't suitable ;P So I picked one out of the half done models and did that one instead.
vulcanologist:
Great entries all round. I’d say I can recognise about 9 or 10 I think. I’m also thinking that we’ve got quite a few new first time entrants lured in by the general feel good vibe around chaos dwarfs at the moment (and also the possibility of mantic goodies!)
Borador:
Anyone already guessing he knows which is mine?
Golder Goldeater:
Anyone already guessing he knows which is mine? ;P
Borador
I believe everyone knows which entry is yours ;P What about mine? Anyone guesses which one is mine?
I can see Tjub's, Thommy H's, Slim's, I think Clam's and some others whose names escape me at the moment.
Borador:
Yeah I know yours aswell I think, that makes 14 for me
I believe I know Thommy’s, nitro’s, clam’s, Golder Goldeater’s, Ishkur’s, Blue’s, Grim’s, G.2’s, Thorne’s, Bassman’s, Tjub’s, Pyro’s, Zanko’s and ofcourse my own ( but I have this odd feeling I have forgotten one now :O)
