After MUCH delay, finally the voting thread for the 18th iteration of the Golden Hat Painting contest as presented by Chaos Dwarfs Online, err hobgoblin hat? <=sound fancy doesn’t it?
How to vote: Please submit 3 numbers as votes by sending a PM to Golden Hat, account (an special account all Staff members can access). We had 14 entries this time, which means each entrant will receive 14 slaves once the winners have been announced. Also, because there were more than 10 entries, there will be Gold, Silver, and Bronze Golden Hat medals up for grabs!
Also folks may want to review this for next time: (How to take great pictures) To say this time around it was a challenge to get everyone’s photos in some sort of consistent format would be an understatement. Also in some cases we received one photo… makes it hard to make everything consistent.
And remember!
Additionally, when you cast votes you must vote for your 3 favorite entries. Each (more or less) anonymous entry below is numbered ranging from 1 to 14. After one week, we will post the results. All staff will have access to the votes if you have a problem with the voting or have questions as to how to vote, likewise, contact one of us.
There is no need to specify which one you think is 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Simply list the three that you like we will do the rest.

It is difficult to decide which three will get the vote. #5 was fun, although not how I picture hobgobbos.
#2 is a top candidate because of the bowstrings. But one of the hobgoblins could have drawn an arrow! #12 features a hilarious Hobgobbo banquet. Otherwise the conversions and painting make it hard to pick favourites. I’ll try to enter next Golden Hat instead, as long as its theme isn’t a large warmachine, in which case I won’t have time to build and paint it properly.
It’s nice to see the voting thread is finally up however it’s quite hard to judge because of the low-res images and not seeing the detail everyone put into there entries.
Since there arent really as much comments as those great entries deserve here my really own thoughts and opinion to the single entries:

@1: I know and love that style. Especially like the musician.
@2: The bowstrings do give them something special, great work.
@3: Full of action and cool painting even if the color scheme isnt to my taste.
@4: Another one of those where it isnt hard to guess the origin, great work as usual. The little scroll bearer is a nice addition.
@5: If they were mine the oneses would be on top (everytime when I dont need them). Cool painting and a nice idea.
@6: Love these old ones and great painting. The shoulder pads are a little bright for my taste.
@7: The bases are giving the painter away. That blue is well done and glowing in the eyes.
@8: Looking really wicked and they seem to use a good teeth paste.
@9: Tell-taling bases, great color scheme and perfect contrasts, love them.
@10: Sweet and hilarious, original and bright. Cool work.
@11: Really love these, a shame that there wasn`t time for the bases. The shields and the skin are the crème here.
@12: Only 1 pic for those slaves serving dinner, bon appétit!
@13: Clean and crisp, and these grass bushels are high enough to hide behind.
@14: Cool conversions, a shame that the pic is so low on contrast. Would like to see single pics.
