We had an excellent turn out of entries, with submissions spanning quite a range - from individual models, entire units, infantry, monsters, cavalry, to mini dioramas, and warmachines. It was great to see the fantastic work coming out of the Dawi Zharr forges! No doubt many a slave gave their feeble lives willingly for such great and admirable entries :hat off
And an honourable mention to Entry #10 - Skink! (who trailed Bronze by 1 vote!)
As per the CDO contest rules, under the FAQ fineprint we clarified the rules for ties several years ago. Just scroll to the bottom of the post or do a find for “What happens if we get a draw?”. The quick and dirty of it, if there are clear Gold and Silver medalists and a tie for Bronze, two Bronze medals are awarded.
The entry key!
You can share your love for each entry by donating slaves to the owners of the entries!
Slaves and medals are coming, as are 3 Veteran medals! Congratulations to our Veteran medal winners Abecedar (Silver), Nicodemus (Silver) and bas_2312 (Bronze)!
And now for the Big prizes:
I’ll e-mail The Russian Alternative tonight and let them know who to expect an e-mail from. I will then send a PM to each of the winners with the e-mail they are to contact in order to supply their mailing address for The Russian Alternative to ship out the models directly. I have a couple of these models already, so I’ve decided to simplify the sorting of prizes and have removed myself from consideration.
As for the donated prizes… C’mon down! Congratulations to:
Vogon you’ll be going home with… a big hoard of bitz!
JMR you are about to be the proud owner of … a blister pack of 4th ED Big Hat models!
DAGabriel, we’re going to send you home with… a huge pile of plastic and metal Big Hat models, courtesy of Sticklander!
I’ll leave it to the lot of you to sort yourselves out via PM for supplying mailing addresses and such. Vogon, contact me!
A big “thanks” to everyone who participated and voted, as well as a big thanks to Fuggit Khan and Sticklander for their prize donations as well!
Can’t wait to see the blog entries for everyone who participated

P.S. A Big thank-you to Bloodbeard who made himself available at the drop of a hat (pardon the in-joke) to help select the random numbers for the prizes!.
Great job! Compliments to the winners! But where is Skink? I cannot believe he has not win any medal? come on his was one of the best CD units ever! His crisp painting and subtle conversions created something unique? the world is not fair
A special compliment to BABIS! Great job dude, Italians do it better

The individual votes are all stored in the Golden Hat account, along with all entries (for every GH contest) and any staff member can check or verify data... just so that we can always avoid potential conflicts of interest when we have one member run a contest...
Along those lines - We don't post the voting key publicly, but if anyone is curious just PM one of the staff, as the voting key has been posted to the staff section of the site and any one of us can tell you how you did.
There were certainly some surprises this time, as some of our veterans who have performed consistently well in the past either didn't win a medal or in some cases didn't get many votes at all (I was surprised at this!!).

Good competition, an absolutely fair fight. Two of my votes got in top 3. There are were so many great entries.
Thanks Nico, you did a hell of a job! Posts, answering questions, counting votes and getting the awesome prizes. Thank you!t
Besides that you are a gentleman - giving up your own prize.
I’m mostly curious about how many actually voted in total. I have no clue if it’ 20 or a hundred. Would be cool to know. Especially since I know how few votes I was from the top 3.
