This_Is_My_Boomstick!!:

This from the BLP website:

Black Industries regret to announce that Dark Heresy: Disciples of the Dark Gods out in September will be the final product to be released from Black Industries.

Kevin Rountree General Manager of BL Publishing said ?~As a result of the continued and impressive success of our core novels business, which we have built around 40K and Warhammer, we have decided to focus all of our efforts on growing this part of our business. Black Industries has seen fantastic success, most recently with Talisman and Dark Heresy. This change does not take away from that achievement rather it allows BL Publishing to focus on producing the best novels we can. This is a purely commercial decision and will enable us to carry on the huge growth that we have recently been experiencing with our novels?T

For the time being Black Industries will continue to post articles in support of the products on their official website, which is a fantastic resource for scenarios and gaming tools for GM?Ts and players alike.

this just shows that they can close any thing down, whats next??

Pyro Stick:

Im not too bothered by this. I dont even think their novels are that good. I read Grey Knights and i wasnt impressed. I got Mark of Chaos with the limited edition pc game of the same name but i have yet to read it.

minty:

Pyro, mark of chaos is a decent book, a bit to factual to be excelent (as in, at points it sounds like a tactical summery rather than a book) but overall it’s great

you realy should read it:)

Pyro Stick
It's not the novels though; it's the RPGs which have been removed to concentrate on the books.

Hashut’s Blessing:

But, the books are being continued, it’s the comics being discontinued, isn’t it? So the lack of being bothered because you dislike the books is void. Or am I getting confused with the Black Library and Black Industries thing?

Lord Zarkov:

Black Industries does RPGs and also Talisman

See Here: http://www.blackindustries.com/

Nazhur:

I think its a shame. I have waited over 20 years for a rpg in 40k and now when it finally comes they close it down after only one week :frowning: I´m sad about it but at least happy they made a try. So get your copies, they will sell out quickly.

Hashut’s Blessing:

Oh of course. Thank you Zarkov. How silly of me. That’s a shame because I was SLOWLY buying the WHFRP books.

wallacer:

Presumably they’re cosing it either because they’re worried it will cut into sales for WFB and 40k (the tabletop version), or because the profit margins on RPG stuff just isn’t high enough.

I feel bad for the BI staff. I own quite a few of the WFRP books and you can tell that they care about what they do.

Shame Dark Heresy was cut off at the knees. It seems like a pretty cheap shot to let it sell out (in about 6 minutes I believe) then announce it is being discontinued after people have bought it. Clever from a business pov I guess, but it seems slightly unethical.

Hashut’s Blessing:

I feel for them too. They need to be hired by the main GW. Try and get some love for the hobby back into the business. Might bring some business-running sense as well!
