Just noticed that GW has passed on the 2.5% VAT cut. Anyone know if they did this recently? An £18 regiment should now cost £17.55 and now costs £17.60??
So the first reduction in GW prices we’ve seen since… well ever I think?
Makes me laugh that they haven’t just passed on the full cut. It doesn’t affect their profits in any way whatsoever. Obviously they don’t want their staff handling 5 pence’s. Must be dangerous for their health or something

Well, you won't get a full 2.5% lowering of the price. It has to do with the way VAT is calculated. A 2.5% off VAT won't lower to the final price 2.5%, it will be a bit less, I think GW said 2.13%. They actually had a notice about it even including a mention of it not being a full 2.5%, I guess they realised people would think they were trying to trick them otherwise.
So they aren't actually doing it wrong, it just looks that way to the uninitiated. Its is a common misconception I've run across before. It's not quite as easy to calculate with the VAT as people seem to think.
