[Archive] Hashut Logo

Loidrial:

Simple question that I just dont get.

Is the logo/icon a sort of V or is it upseide down like an A?

I see it always in different positions from you guys and i just dont get it.

Bloodbeard:

wiki: [[Rune of Hashut]]

Skink:

GW never voiced an opinion on the matter. In fact, this rune appears on just a couple of bighat models, and was never addressed as the “official” symbol of our deity.

Some creative dude from days bygone used it for his Chaos Dwarfs, and since them lots of people adopted the same rune in their armies.

Fuggit Khan:

There is no real clear definition or rule in which direction it faces…it appears on only a few of the 4th edition Perry sculpts, mostly on the Bull Centaur axes. Although it is never “mirrored”, it does in fact get depicted “reversed” on the reverse of the weapon blade (if that makes sense)…by that I mean the end with three prongs can be facing up or down.
You can depict it facing any direction you like, because it’s molded on different models facing in numerous ways. That’s Chaos for you :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Loidrial:

I just went to assume it was like a V for the similarity of the Khorne one with the fact that they are even related.

Parish:

Woua ! I think I discovered something xD I never related Khorne’s sign and ours…

Is ashut clearly an independent “Demon” or “subGod” or is he an interpretation of khorne?

Bloodbeard:

Perhaps. It’s a theory.

I’m just gonna link the wiki again:

[[Hashut]].

Parish:

I already went through all of this but thanks

I was just wondering if any of you had any more information

Dînadan:

As said, there’s no official ruling on orientation; personally I always use it facing < or > due to its use on axes on the big hat minis with the ‘open’ end near the haft of the weapon and the bar being away from the haft and as such it feels more natural to me for the ‘default’ to correspond to how the rune is orientated when the axe is held with the haft vertical.

Chaos Dwarf war machines were Khornate in 3rd edition, Khorne being (when you take away all of the emotion and method) the generic god of progress and improvement.
