So I am wanting to use helmets but I don’t know what to use. Classic chaos warriors seem to be best option for over all size. The problem is where do I get classic chaos warrior heads? So let’s be realistic now.
Current chaos warrior helmets are too small.
chaos marauder helmets are too small.
Or at least they are to small for me.
Are bretonnian knight helmets (with top decoration chopped off) are those a good size to base helmets off of? If I do this I would probably use them as a base for tall hats but they would not be very tall if that makes sense. I would have the helmets no more than double the size of the original knight helmet, just not my style.
So in essence are the bretonnian knight helmets of correct size for chaos dwarves (I use battle for skull pass dwarves and current line of regular dwarves)
Are there any other helmets in the CURRENT GW range that is of good size?

Chaos Space Marine heads are the right size and a few of them look ‘helm’ enough… Doubtful you could get enough of the right ones without absurd costs though. Not really practical unless you have a CSM army too. Some of the old metal Iron Warrior heads were great, but they’re pretty rare these days.
eBay for 5th ed Chaos Warriors? If you manage to find any, they should be cheap by now… Or look for Mantic heads?
Bretonnians are about the same size as Chaos Warriors/Knights.
Or you could wait 6 months until I finish my Royal Guard. They’ll have separate heads

I have about 30 Battle For Skull Pass dwarves and around 60 regular dwarves so both. GW brand.

Ok now I am going to ask you guys to look at my horrible horrible dwarf I made for my avatar. Notice how I cut the head slightly. I removed the dwarf part and then removed the back of the chaos helmet. Would this work with the new chaos helmets. I am not really asking if I can full on whop the head of the dwarf off and switch it with a chaos helmet. Could I cut it so that it is like this back of dwarf head\chaos helmet in front?
Does this make sense?

Well, if the Dwarf helmet is wider than the Chaos helmet, that will cause problems, no? It could be done I’m sure, but you may need to add stuff to the sides to camouflage the join.

Are the WF ones the Warhammer Forge ones? To answer that I like them but I want to convert my army. Thats part of the fun of Chaos Dwarves. I do not like the price and to be honest I am not sure I would want to have them even if they were cheaper.

It might be easier for you to sculpt a chaos-style helmet onto the bodies and adding horns, rather than a complete head replacement.

Back in the day i did a conversion using a CSM head
i found the head to be a bit big
I use Bret heads which i think are a better fit
