Hey all!
I’m seeking some help and since this forum has the most people that know a lot of other brands i thought this might be the best place to ask it.
I’m building a winter themed wood elves army for myself for some time already (not much painted so far) and i’m constantly stuck on the point, what to do for tree kin.
I did came up with a nice idea for this since the original models suck **s and there are almost no good looking alternatives.
Ice elementals or Ice golems!
After a few hours of of time on the net and finding nothing i like i thought lets make a post!
Hope someone can help me out!

Have you considered searching for stone golems and painting them like they’re made of ice? Maybe the Mantic Abyssal Dwarf golems are to your liking?
As you probably know, Reaper has a lot of miniatures, so they may have some suitable ones, but probably not enough to make a good looking unit.
There’s also some frost spirit / elemental models from… DarkAge or Malifaux. People considered using them as K’daai by painting them fiery, although they are a bit small for 40mm bases. If I recall correctly they are/were also available cast in transparent blue-toned resin, to make them look like ice.
Have you considered some yeti-like monsters instead? Crocodile Games has a range of Yeti’s.

My internet is playing up on my laptop, have a look at the Malifaux Range for Ice Golem (plastic part of Children of December starter crew) or in metal Rasputina Avatar of famine they may fit the bill?

I have some problems with my internet connection atm, but you might take a look at trollbloods from Privateer press, I remember they had a couple of ice based models and they were great but expensive

Privateer Press also has some models in the Circle Orboros faction for Hordes that would make good golems.
