I remembered playing this game when I was younger (when it came out) and thought I would get a copy for me to play with the kids. I picked one up (for free!) from a fellow Aussie wargamer.
Anyway, I had a couple of weeks of school holidays in which I thought I would make the game more presentable. I am still on the hunt to get the last few minis that were broken (or have been broken since).
All were done with base coats then mud or black wash or both. They turned out pretty well for the time I spent on them. I still have the Gargoyle to finish, and find another 3 heroes, a goblin and the Chaos sorceror to complete the set.
superb. I love Heroquest, like many of my generation it introduced me to the world of GW. I have a mint HQ and 2 expansions I managed to pick up a year or two back cheap. I also got Advanced HQ and Terror in the dark off the same fella.
With Space Hulk renewing interest in this sorta thing I have been tempted to finally paint the copy of Space Crusade I have on a shelf!
NIc… yes I have the scales painted… but it was the very last piece I did and I am not very happy with it, just ended up drybrushed (looks a bit stupid). I may put a pic up once I do some more of the heroes, once I find and buy some more heroes!!
Starscream… I have a copy of Space Crusade that may be my next holiday assignment (along with my Chaos Dwarfs). I’m thinking of putting magnets on the weapons as it will cause less wear and tear on the marines. Also I need to strip some minis from previous dodgy paintjobs.
Yeah it is, thanks HB but I’m over here in Australia and you are over the other side of the world. I actually have a trade going on over here that should net me all the missing bits.
Sadly as school has gone back from a holiday period, my paints have also gone back to the cupboard for a while. Reports to write this term. (I’m hoping to have my CD stuff done, all of it, by the end of January)
Meanwhile I should take some photos of my Blood bowl team, just not sure if black undercoat turns out well on screen.
