[Archive] How do you ship painted miniatures?

Ubercat:

I’m planning on selling my CD army as detailed in this thread…

If I sell the whole force to one buyer then shipping is easy. I just send it in the two GW carrying cases that are holding it. The problem is how to safely ship individual units if I split it up. I don’t want the paint jobs getting scraped up, or the glued on shields popping off. I also don’t want to spend money on more carrying cases, as they’re the only safe method I know of.

Any suggestions?

Hashut’s Blessing:

Most people just use bubble wrap and put them into a small card/cardboard box…

Kera foehunter:

i use cotton ball to go around the figure then 3 layer of paper towel arond the figure then i put them in a box with strofoam peanuts and it save even for over seas

Pyro Stick:

On ebay i see a lot of large armies get sent out in carry cases. You can put the postage up but the overall price will go up and the buyer can be assured that nothing will break. If its only one or two minis then wrap them in bubble wrap and put them in a jiffy bag.

Ubercat:

Thanks for the suggestions, folks. You definitely kickstarted my brain.

buy some foam trays from ebay and put the models in them in a box, cheaper than buying a case for them (case and postage wise)
